    Rising Nollywood actress Sarah Abimbola Owatemi aka SayRahgold has reiterated her determination to make a difference as an actress on the Nigerian film scene.

    SayRahgold, in a recent chat, explained that being a role interpreter, she can take up any role and impress the director while educating and entertaining the audience.

    “I am an actress. I have featured in so many movies and played several roles. I can act any type of role,” she said.

    The beautiful actress and producer revealed that she found a voice on the entertainment space while growing up and has continued to improve on the scene.

    “I have always loved entertainment. While I was growing up, I had always craved to entertain and educate people through my talents. I would act in certain ways while looking at myself in the mirror, I have a dance /choreography group, I anchor events, dance and motivate people in positive ways. I have always been an outspoken person, so I help people to gain and regain their confidence,” SayRahgold said.

    With three films in her kitty and ‘Iru Kileyi,’ being her most recent, SayRahgold says she loves telling stories through visuals because life experiences inspire her personal productions.

    SayRahgold’s ‘Iru Kileyi’ is currently airing on Yoruba Pro TV on YouTube.

    The recently released highlife album topped the Apple Music Top 100 chart worldwide at the number 50 position, less than 24 hours and 27th position 48 hours after its release.

    The album has gone one to occupy spot 19 on the chart as of Monday, September 18.

    This monumental achievement makes ‘Abialam’ the first highlife music album from Africa to ever reach this global milestone.

    Epic Media takes Afrobeats Festival To America

    Epic Media Enterprises, a US-based Nigerian firm, has announced plans to host the first ever Afrobeats Festival in America.

    The festival is billed for Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the Discovery Green, in Houston, Texas and will feature leading Afrobeats artists from Nigeria and Africa.

    Speaking on the project, the CEO of Epic Media and founder of the festival, Akpor Gbemre, informed that initiative aims to promote Afrobeats brand of music, as well as celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria on a global stage.

    “Nigeria is an oil producing country, but if you look at it critically now, music, particularly Afrobeats, has earned the country global recognition. From the United Kingdom to America and other parts of Europe, Nigerian artists are flying the country’s flag high. So, we saw the need to institute a yearly Afrobeats Festival that will celebrate our rich musical culture, as well as promote the brand Nigeria,” Gbemre said.

    According to Gbemre, Afrobeats In America Festival had been in the works for a very long time.

    “We’ve been working on this project for some time now, but personally, I was patiently waiting for the right time; I think the time is now. Today, the world is celebrating Afrobeats, a brand of music from Nigeria. So, this festival offers a unique experience to music lovers with an opportunity to experience the fusion of African rhythms and beats with American music,” he said.

    While commending the present administration in Nigeria for paying attention to the creative industry, Gbemre noted, “the creation of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy by President Bola Tinubu is an indication that this administration understands the place of tourism and creative industry in growing our economy. I’m using this opportunity to also reach out to the Nigerian government, through the Ministry of Tourism And Creative Economy, to come on board on this project. This is our opportunity to celebrate something good from Nigeria.”

    Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has raised concerns over the untimely death of 27-year-old rising music star, MohBad.

    The actres s and reality show star queried Naira Marley in connection with alleged MohBad’s reported mental health problems prior to his passing.

    During a live video session, Ojo raised questions about Mohbad’s mental well-being, as suggested by Naira Marley.

    Recently, a video had emerged in which Naira Marley mentioned that Mohbad had experienced mental health challenges before his unfortunate demise.

    She said: “This boy you claimed is your brother, what did you do to help him when you found out that he had mental health issues. He did a few songs under your record label which you benefited from. You know his dad is poor but he is your brother and he was under your record label, so did you call his parents to speak to them looking for how to help him even though he’s leaving your record label? Did you show him love or take him for treatment?

    “My mum had mental health issues and for good 30 years of my life, I took care of her, so when it comes to anything mental health I have a very wide understanding about it.”

    Mo Abudu’s EbonyLife Films have concluded plans to screen two fresh productions, ‘Iyawo Mi,’ and ‘Her Perfect Life,’ on Sunday, September 24  in Lagos.

    The two productions will be screened to a private audience at the EbonyLife place situated on Victoria Island, Lagos.

    While Abudu and her team are excited about the two screenings, it is unsure if the two productions are going on a cinema voyage or straight to streaming platforms.

     The first production, ‘Her Perfect Life’ features Pearl Thusi, Joseph Benjamin, Omawunmi Dada, Uzo Osimpka, Christian Paul, Mary Lazarus and tells the story of 39-year-old Onajite Johnson-Ibrahim, who seems to have the perfect life – a flourishing career, a growing business, a loving husband and two bright, beautiful children but wants to end it all.

    The second production, ‘Iyawo Mi’ (My Wife) tells the story of Kunle, who arrives home one night to find a horror awaiting him. His wife, Eniola, seems to have gone mad; hallucinating, screaming at their children and neighbours, and threatening to kill everyone. Kunle takes matters into his own hands, with tragic consequences. The production features Adedimeji Lateef, Bolaji Ogunmola, Segun Arinze and Jude Chukwuka.
