    Hello Mr Right: Voting stage opens for viewers’ choice

    The second season of Hello Mr Right, the popular dating show on StarTimes, is now in its voting stage, where the viewers get to decide who will win the show by voting for their favourite couple.

    The show is a matchmaking and dating show where potential matches get to choose dates from among other participants.

    The show is hosted by KieKie and co-hosted by Shine Begho and Oyindamola. Hello Mr Right also features the handsome actor, Bolanle Ninalowo, as a relationship mentor who gives advice and tips to the contestants.

    The fourth episode will air today on ST Nollywood Plus and ST Novela E at 7:50pm.

    The contestants have been engaging in various games and tasks to find their perfect match and enjoy free romantic dinner dates, thrilling viewers with drama, romance, and comedy in between.

    The viewers have the power to decide who will win the show by voting for their favourite couple via SMS and online.

    “To vote via SMS, MTN users can text their favourite couple’s unique number to 50017.”

    The viewer will receive Hello Mr. Right’s theme song as their caller tunes for a week. You can vote for a couple up to one hundred times a week, powered by  CallerTunez. To vote online, viewers should log on to StarTimes-ON app and visit the Hello Mr Right zone,” Yemi Ogundeji, Head of Production, StarTimes Nigeria said.

    Producer and director Emem Isong-Misodi has opened a new multi-million Naira Royal Arts African Centre ahead of hosting the inaugural edition of African Cultural Film Festival, AFICUFF.

    The centre, located in Houston, Texas, is in fulfilment of her lifelong ambition to take the culture of her people beyond the shores of Nigeria.

    According to Isong-Misodi, this is in an effort to foster mutual and peaceful coexistence between each community.

    The colourful event was graced by Nollywood stars, directors among other dignitaries including

    Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen, Alex Ekubo, Bukky Wright, Thelma Okoduwa, Bola Aduwo, Anita Chris, Ijeoma Onah of Nigeria International Film Summit.

    Others were Uche James Iroha, Arch Bishop Cletus Bassey of Destiny International Missions, Pst and Mrs Morayo Fagboro of Kingdom Life Assembly, Bode Ojo, Grace Charis Bassey (formerly Belinda Effah), and Ruth Maingi.

    During the event Imasuen screened his new movie ‘For The Love of Isiuwa’ to the admiration of all present.

    The event also witnessed  the unveiling of the  African Cultural Film Festival (AFRICUFF), which is billed to take  place from October 26  through October 29, 2023, in Houston, Texas.

    According to Emem, the 4-day Afrocentric film festival focuses on celebrating African films, short films and documentaries in the bid to unveil the cultural and artistic richness of the black race to a global audience.

    This is coming after a similar attempt by Damilola Adeparusi, a 300level Fuoye student.

    Fans have been streaming the Ondo chef’s 150-hour Cook-a-thon live video session to see how far she can go.

    Despite the controversy trailing her mission, the Ondo State chef remains determined to break the record, as she claims to have been preparing intensely for the cook-a-thon.

    Hilda Baci, a chef from Akwa Ibom, holds the record for the longest cooking marathon, having cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes straight.

    The rapper said no one should roast him, stressing that his assertion was “a fact.”

    Legend Studios Africa tackles drug abuse with short film

    Legend Studios Africa, a new movie production company, has launched in Nigeria with a debut short film entitled ‘The Wedding.’

    ‘The Wedding,’ starring Brutus Richard, depicts how drug addiction is portrayed through Raymond’s character, who is overwhelmed by the pressures of wedding preparations. He seeks relief in a ‘Wonder pill’ offered by his friend Kelvin. Reluctantly, he takes the pills, and his addiction takes a toll on his life.

    His addiction costs him his relationship with his wife Eve, who leaves due to his destructive behaviour. The film highlights Raymond’s journey of healing and redemption.

    Speaking about the film, director and writer, Kelvin Oladiran, said “This is indeed my first short film. As a creative, there is immense beauty and joy in witnessing one’s ideas transform into reality. Bringing my vision to life has been a fulfilling experience.”

    Shot with a Canon C70 camera along with a cinema lens, Kelvin Oladiran shared plans for the newly released movie which is available on YouTube and some selected platforms.

    “Our strategic approach involves both submitting the short film to renowned film festivals and engaging in the targeted promotion to attract an audience that possesses a discerning appreciation for exceptional cinematography,” said Oladiran.
