Pretty wife of Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa, former military administrator of Lagos State, Munirat Marwa, is one resilient lady who has refused to let life’s cruel blows keep her down. After a long hiatus from the social scene, Munirat has stepped out again, ready to grab life by its lapel and wrestle her way to happiness.

Until recently, she maintained a low profile lifestyle, scurrying away from life’s challenges. She further sank into her shell of anonymity after the campaign of her husband, Gen. Marwa, for the governorship seat of Adamawa State ended an anti-climax. Choosing to nurse their pains privately, the couple went under the radar.

But Munirat was sighted recently in Lagos at Senator Khairat Gwadabe’s daughter’s wedding, looking gorgeous in her yellow attire. Many guests who had not seen her in a while couldn’t take their eyes off her.

  • Toke Makinwa seeks end to marriage

The marital union of popular on air personality, Toke Makiwa and her husband, Maje Ayida, which began on a romantic note, is turning out like a scene out of a movie. The two love birds appear determined now to go their separate ways. Toke, in particular, seems to have come to the conclusion that there is no sense remaining in a marriage she considers unhappy.

Consequently, Toke has filed a divorce petition before Justice Pedro of the Lagos State High Court.

Toke was said to be angling for an endorsement deal worth N20 million with a telecommunication company, but she lost the deal as a result of the scandal that trailed the pregnancy of an alleged baby mama. According to the petition, Toke had endured the situation, hoping that things will get better in her marriage. But Maje was said to be allegedly unappreciative of Toke’s perseverance and threatened to physically assault her.

Toke, from all indications, is ready for a fresh start as far as marriage is concerned.

  • Faysal Harbs lies low

Faysal Harbs has sparked a debate on the social scene from the comfort of his hideout. While socialites debate where the once ubiquitous Harbs is currently hibernating, he is basking in the calmness and peace that accompanies solitude.

Faysal once made Ilorin, the capital city of Kwara State, his oyster. He remains yet a prominent player in its economic and social spheres. Not only does he call the shots on the social scene of the town, his wife, Chief (Mrs) Jumoke Harbs, is also a famous socialite and highly respected woman.

Perhaps his self-imposed exile from the social scene is borne out of the realisation that those who stay under the radar outlast those who strive to be on top of it. The popular businessman therefore vanished from the social scene like the sun in a thunder storm.

While many are at a loss as to why Faysal has abandoned the social scene, it is rumoured that his financial status is no longer as solid as it used to be as his businesses are facing some hard times. But some of his associates insist that he is still as solid as ever financially, if not stronger.

While Fayasal has chosen to stay off the radar, his wife has embraced it and has become a regular face on the social scene. Her JMK Salon in Ilorin remains one of the hottest beauty spots for celebrities and the elites.

  • Oyakhilome’s estranged wife disowns reconciliation rumour

Pastor Anita Ebhodaghe has finally come out to refute claims that she reconciled with her former husband and General Overseer of Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, and had rejoined the church. Ebhodaghe, in a statement issued by her solicitors, Attwaters Jameson Hill, on February 8, re-affirmed the dissolution of the clergywoman’s marriage with Oyakhilome and also announced that she would drop Oyahkilome from her name forthwith.

Some individuals who felt concerned about the divorce of the two pastors had been working at reconciling them. That was why it was believed by many when several blogs spun reports that the estranged couple had settled their differences out of court and had got back together.

But in a statement she posted on her blog, Ebhodaghe denied insinuations that she had made up with the televangelist. She stated that with regard to the formal notification of the dissolution of her marriage made by her solicitors earlier this year, nothing has changed, adding that she is no longer a part of Christ Embassy.

She said the clarification became necessary to ensure that no one is misled by the false rumours that are spread from time to time on the Internet.

  • Tina Ogundoyin slows her roll

Whenever the top runners of the social scene in Ibadan are being discussed, Tina Ogundoyin’s name naturally comes to the fore. She and her friends bestride the posh and elite end of Ibadan like a colossus, dictating its pulse. While she is enjoying competition from new entrants, Tina never fails to make strong and outstanding fashion statements, earning her a place also as a fashion icon.

But it would seem that some irrepressible forces of nature are trying to stop Yeye Tina Ogundoyin in her tracks in the wake of some “emotional issues” with her heartthrob and popular socialite, Sogo Agboola. The fair-complexioned beauty popularly called Queen of Sheba does not have age on her side and has chosen to recoil into a shell from which she comes out occasionally.

She has become selective in the gigs she attends these days, leaving the art of gallivanting to younger ladies.

  • Who is after Gbenga Elegbeleye’s life?

Ever since former Director General of National Sports Commissions and former Chairman House Committee on Sports, Otunba Gbenga Elegbeleye, indicated his plan to contest the number one seat in Ondo State, he has been met with violent antagonism within his party  the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The party that was to act as his launch pad has since become a stumbling block on his path to being the next governor of Ondo State.

He has suffered coordinated assaults by alleged PDP thugs in Ode-Irele and Owo, Ondo State, on different occasions, from which he barely escaped. These developments have generated insinuations from different sections that some top members of the party are afraid of his popularity.

Political thugs brandishing axe and other dangerous weapons had attacked his entourage in Irele, claiming that they were after a particular politician from the local government. In Owo, Elegbeleye was billed to address party leaders at the party’s secretariat, but minutes before his arrival, 15 gunmen invaded the secretariat, shooting sporadically and claiming that they were not appointed supervisors in the local government.

Curiously, Elegbeleye, who hails from Akoko North East Local Government Area, has no direct or remote involvement in picking supervisors in Owo.
