    Afrobeats singer Young Jonn has revealed that he is not prepared for a serious relationship at the moment.

    Speaking on The Way Up podcast with Angela Yee, the artist explained that he prefers to maintain platonic friendships rather than commit romantically.

    He admitted that he isn’t in the right space to devote himself fully to one person and doesn’t want to place anyone in a relationship where he cannot meet their expectations.

    He said, “Everybody loves love. I mean, love is wonderful. But, I’m not really in that space where I can give so much of myself to one person. So, I’m just keeping it platonic with everybody,” he expressed.

    In a recent interview, he recounted how a mysterious woman approached him in Benin with a message from God, urging him to audition for the show.

    He added that shortly after the encounter, a friend sent him the registration link, and he successfully made it through the audition on his first attempt.

    “A woman came to meet me in Benin, saying that she had a message from God for me. She said I should go for Big Brother Naija. After that encounter, a friend sent the BBNaija registration link, I filled it and auditioned successfully at the first trial,” he said.

    In a post on X, the singer dismissed critics who accused him of chasing clout, saying legends are only made when artists step away from the scene—a step he has no intention of taking.

    “I fully embrace being seen as an upcoming artist. You only become a legend when you retire—and I’m never retiring. So if you catch me chasing clout, let me be,” he wrote.

    Afrobeats singer Tiwa Savage has expressed reservations about being referred to as the “Queen of Afrobeats.”

    Savage, in an interview with Apple Music’s Ebro, said that while she appreciates the recognition, she feels uncomfortable with the title, citing the responsibility that comes with it and noting that many other talented female artists also deserve recognition.

    She emphasised the importance of humility and noted that her pioneering role as one of the first female artists in Nigeria to break through may have contributed to her being dubbed with the title.

    She said, “Yeah, they call me the Queen of Afrobeats, but there are a lot of us that are Queens.

    “Personally, I don’t like that tag, it’s uncomfortable because I feel like if I start accepting it, I need to be humble, and secondly, it doesn’t make sense to me. So, I don’t [accept it]. But I appreciate it. I didn’t come up with it. I think it’s just because I was one of the first female artists in Nigeria to break through. I do appreciate that. I’m not taking it for granted.”

    Afrobeats star Adekunle Gold is set to release his sixth studio album “FUJI” on October 3, 2025.

    The ‘Coco Money’ hitmaker, in a recent post on X, said the upcoming album marks a new chapter in his life and career, reflecting his journey, lessons learned, and experiences.

    According to him: “FUJI” is a story about where he comes from, who he has become, and where he’s heading.”

    He added that the album has been five years in the making and promises to be his greatest work yet.

    Gold wrote: “I’ve been working quietly on something that marks a new chapter for me. Music that carries where I come from, who I have become, and where I’m heading.     Adekunle Gold’s musical journey has been marked by consistent reinvention and growth.

    His previous album, “Tequila Ever After”, was released on July 28, 2023, featuring 18 tracks with collaborations with notable artists like Pharrell Williams, Khalid, Simi, and Odumodublvck.

    The new album, “FUJI”, signals a new direction in his music, blending traditional Nigerian sounds with modern styles.

    Management of Big Brother Naija housemate Kuture has issued a statement condemning the harsh treatment he has faced on the show.

    Fellow housemate’s comment likening him to “Shrek” has sparked outrage, with the team describing the remark as “profoundly inhumane” and “verbally degrading.”

    According to the statement, such words inflict lasting emotional harm and strip away a person’s dignity.

    The team is calling for compassion and respect for Kuture, emphasising that he deserves to be treated with kindness and understanding.

    The statement reads: “We are deeply saddened by the endless victimization faced by Big Brother Naija housemate Kuture, who has once again been subjected to ridicule over his physical appearance.     “While it is natural for disagreements to occur in a social setting like the Big Brother house, it is profoundly inhumane to verbally degrade another human being based on their natural looks and attributes. Such words strip away dignity, inflict lasting emotional harm, and reduce a person’s humanity to the subject of mockery.

    “Kuture deserves compassion, respect, and the freedom to exist in the house without being demeaned for how he looks”.

    Koboko Master set to headline biggest comedy show in Niger

    One of the finest stand-up comedians in Nigeria, Gbadamosi ThankGod Benard known by his stage name, Koboko Master, is set to bring exceptional festival of laughter to residents of Minna, Niger state as he hits the city with his comedy show. 

    The comedy show, tagged Niger State Lafta with Koboko Master is part of activities lined up to mark the country’s Independence anniversary. 

    Expected to perform include, Magnito Acapella, Nedu, Clint da Drunk, Akpororo and MC Edo Pikin. 

    Others include, Mr. Paul, Mazi Prospa, Deacon Megoro, I Am Shy, MC Bless, Beejay and Temiz. 

    His choice of Minna for this comedy show is part of the state government’s drive to bring entertainment to the doorstep of the people of Niger, who are largely happy people and receptive to visitors. 

    Beyond the heavy investment of the state governor, Mohammed Umar Bago in agriculture and environment, entertainment is one area he has focused on to show that social life is very robust in the state.

    The state has positioned itself in recent times as using entertainment as a tool to unite the people. Niger State Lafta with Koboko Master also has the backing and support of the State Internal Revenue Service 

    The show will hold at Posh Event Marque on 3rd October and is expected to have a high presence of top government officials in the state.

    Recently, he made history by becoming the first comedian to shut down the newly commissioned 5000-capacity event centre at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja with his “In Da Beginning” comedy show. 

    The event on June 15, 2025, had high profile guests, comprising big players in the entertainment industry, business executives, captains of industry and politically exposed persons. 

    He emerged the first comedian to attract guests that filled up the 5000-capacity hall to brim as fans were still rushing for table reservation at the last minute.
