From cutting down time for film classification to moving from censorship to classification and protection of the craft, Dr Husseini has continued to score points in the last two years.

Analysing his achievements, Dr Husseini said, “ I have cut down wait times for film classification so creators can get their work to the world without delays. From documentary to animation and feature film, AiFlix360 Films dominated the awards night. ‘Wakanda Is Real’ clinched the Best Documentary Film prize, while ‘Detty December’ won Best Animation Film.

  • Zunday condemns detention of 52 protesting students in Edo

Zunday condemns detention of 52 protesting students in Edo

Edo-born Afrobeat musician, Ajakaiye Sunday aka Zunday, has condemned the continued detention of 52 students arrested in Edo State.

Zunday, in strong words, also condemned what he considered the deeper injustice that led to the protest in the first place, which is the growing cases of kidnapping, killings, growing insecurity and poor infrastructure in the state.

“The protest did not happen in a vacuum,” he stated, “it was born out of pain, fear and long standing frustration. Edo State has witnessed repeated cases of kidnapping, killings, growing insecurity and poor infrastructure. Roads are unsafe, communities live in fear, and families sleep with anxiety. For too long, the cries of the people have been met with silence.”

The artist said, “When a government fails to act decisively against insecurity, when citizens feel abandoned and unheard, people will eventually come out to express their anger and frustration. That expression is not rebellion. It is desperation.”

He stated further that peaceful protest is a constitutional right and a last resort when dialogue appears ignored. “If the right actions had been taken earlier; if the safety of lives had been prioritised, these young people would not have felt the need to take to the streets. It is therefore deeply troubling that the response to public frustration has been mass arrests. The same power that should be used to protect citizens from kidnappers and killers is now being exercised against students and young people. This raises a serious moral question. Why is it when the people cry out that authority suddenly becomes strong against them?”

Zunday therefore called for the intervention of the governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo to listen to the voice of the people, address the root causes of the protest and ensure that innocent students are not punished for government failures.

He also called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene in the matter, while appealing to Senator Adams Oshiomhole to “rise as a son of Edo State and stand with the people at this critical moment.”

Davido denies teenage girl’s paternity claims, threatens legal action

Grammy-nominated singer Davido has denied paternity of a teenage girl, Anu, who claims he is her father.

In a statement on social media, Davido rejected Anu’s claims and accused her mother of being an “obsessed fan” who is manipulating her daughter.

Anu posted a message on Instagram requesting a DNA test to establish her identity.

She shared her struggles with bullying and mental anguish, saying classmates mocked her claims of being Davido’s daughter.

Anu wrote: “This year I become a teenager. My mom and grandma have always educated me on being a responsible teen. No drugs, alcohol, bad company and bad behavior. Today I drafted a letter I wrote from the depth of my heart not with help from my relatives.

“As I grow older I want to establish my identity. I was bullied in school since I was 6-year-old and cried home daily. Other students laughed at me when I told them my father was Mr David Adeleke. I went through a lot of mental anguish and visited a medical professional to protect my mental health. It was a sad challenging time in my life.

“This page was not online for 5 years as my mom never updated this account since it was handed over to us. We went through a lot. Despite the challenges, I still excelled to the top of the class and became the class prefect. We posted some of my report cards on this page. Now that I’m in secondary school and still excelling in my studies, I don’t talk about my family history anymore.

“However on that note as I transition into a young woman, I am respectfully asking Mr David Adeleke Singer @davido for a DNA test to establish my identity. This test is between my dad and I. It is something I want. It is something that’s the right thing to do. Please sir, consider my request once you read this post. I also sent it to your DM.

“Thank you to all Nigerians who have given me emotional support for the last 7 years. This DNA test is the right thing to do for me.”

However, Davido said he has already undergone five DNA tests, all of which were negative, and challenged Anu’s claims.

The singer expressed frustration and disappointment, saying he’s chosen three hospitals for the tests, and Anu’s team chose two, all with the same negative result.

“I’VE TAKEN 5 DNA TESTS ALL NEGATIVE I AM NOT YOUR FATHER … NEVER EVEN MET UR MOM .. SHES AN OBSESSED FAN LYING TO YOU … THIS NEEDS TO STOP I ACTUALLY HAVE CHILDREN .. STOP THIS NONSENSE. Yes I chose 3 hospitals and they chose their own two hospitals .. all came out Negative .. “

Davido threatened to take action against Anu’s mother, saying she needs to be held accountable.

“This is the last time I’m speaking on this nonsense. Never met the bitch … except when went For the DNA … very stupid behavior I will soon treat their FK … 5 fucking hospitals just to be clear .. the mom needs to go to jail … I don’t blame the poor girl ..”, he added.
