  • Ure Okezie slows her roll

    Ure Okezie slows her roll

Ure Okezie, who once bestrode the high society like a colossus, has suddenly gone off the radar. Fondly called Queen Ure, the last child and only daughter of the late medical practitioner, politician and former Minister of Health, Dr. J.O.J. Okezie, graced A-list events with her appealing presence. With her ex-beau and hip hop star, Soul E, constantly by her side, it was as if the gold fish was going to rock the social scene for decades, particularly after they founded a church called the Love Zone Ministry in Ikeja, Lagos.

The tides turned and Ure began to experience a bit of the other side of life. With her controversial affair with Soul E coming to an end, she retreated into solitude. She later tried to make a comeback into the glamour world through music, but her album, Porporri, failed to make any impact. Within months, her ministry, the Love Zone, also shut down.

Ure Okezie trained as a physicist and turned into a banker before she went into ministry and entertainment. After several vain attempts to salvage what was left of her social life, she seems to have faded off the limelight.

  • Siju Iluyomade’s amazing lifestyle

Christianity has evolved above the limits of conservative dress codes. Pastors’ wives are becoming fashion role models. Siju Iluyomade, wife of Pastor Idowu Iluyomade of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David, Victoria Island, Lagos is fast becoming the queen of fashion among pastors’ wives in Nigeria.

Siju lives like a queen; always dressed in designers outfits like Gucci, Zagliani, Hermes, Marc Jacobs, and Christian Louboutin. Even when she attends a function with A-list society women, her style and fashion sense stand out.

City of David, regarded as the richest RCCG parish in Nigeria, is full of elegant women but theirs are no way near the flamboyant style of their pastor’s wife. Her pretty face is like a work of art. She drives the best of cars and wears the best of body accessories. Heads turn in admiration when she steps into church every Sunday.

  • Folasayo Akinbile-Yusuf keeps her moves under wraps

Pharmacist-turned-politician, Princess Folasayo Akinbile-Yusuf, is keeping her next political moves to her chest. The Chief Executive Officer of Musaroq Group, whose quest to better the lot of people in her constituency, pushed her into politics a couple of years back, insists she would not disclose her moves yet.

A few weeks ago, the rumour mill had it that Akinbile -Yusuf had concluded plan to join the race for the chairmanship of a local council development area and that she had been consulting with those that matter in the All Progressives’ Congress(APC).

The hugely successful business woman has, however, denied the story, saying: “The story is not true at all. For now, I have not told anyone what my ambition is. At the moment, I enjoy being a loyal member of APC and I will do everything to promote the party and ensure its success in the forthcoming elections in Alimosho.

“Becoming a local government chairperson is even the least of my ambition, and I cannot determine what I will become or the height I would attain except God orders my steps in the right direction. Only God is my compass and He would definitely guide and direct my steps when the time comes.”

It will be recalled that Akinbile-Yusuf narrowly missed the ticket to represent Alimosho Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly in 2011, following which she was appointed Supervisory Councillor for Agric and Social Development in the Agbado/Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area.

  • Stella Damasus pays tribute to husband

Despite her purported controversial relationship with filmmaker, Daniel Ademinokan, popular actress, Stella Damasus, has continued to share her affection for her late husband, Jaiye Aboderin, with the public.

Aboderin died 10 years ago, while playing basketball with friends, and every year, Stella remembers him. Yesterday, she published a tribute that has since gone viral on the social media.

She said: “Every morning I open my eyes from sleep, the first words that come to my lips are ‘Thank You Lord for the miracle of sleeping and waking up’. I am thankful to God for His grace, his favor, His blessings and also for the privilege he gave me to have had an amazing man in my life who was my friend and husband. JAIYE, today makes it 10 whole years that you left us here to a better place. It’s been 10 long years without your words of wisdom, your gentle personality and your warm heart.

“You were a source of strength for me and everybody that came in contact with you. Yes, you left us suddenly but the impact your short life had on this earth will stay with us forever. I miss you Jay, but I know you’re in a better place. Thank you for showing me what true love is and for making me know how it feels to truly love and be loved. It is my prayer that people at some point in their lives get to experience someone as great as you.

“I’ve learnt to live life, love life. I’ve learnt to appreciate every moment of it because sometimes those moments may be lost forever and never return. I’ve learnt to say I’m sorry to those who I hurt because I may never get a chance to say it tomorrow. I’ve learnt to say I love you to those who I love because they may not be here tomorrow to hear it from me. I learnt to say goodbye to those who are in my life as barriers because they may be holding me back from extending love and gratitude to those who should get it. I have learnt to be me for me.

“Thank you Jaiye because you brought that out in me. I am grateful for the life I shared with you. I am grateful for who I am now because sharing a life with you made me a better person. I miss you and the girls miss you too. Continue to rest in peace, Jaiyejeje Aboderin.”

  • Where is Peter Obafemi?

    Where is Peter Obafemi?

The fickle nature of life makes man’s fate unpredictable. Time and chance change the otherwise unalterable. Ask Peter Obafemi. A couple of years ago, the owner of defunct Ritetime Airways had the world at his feet. It was as if he had a personal relationship with good fortune.

After his marriage to his American-based wife, Maureen, hit the rocks, Obafemi found love again in the dainty hands of Lolade Iruka. And just last year, the two welcomed their baby boy and their home became the veritable seat of joy. But right now, things do not appear to be as rosy as they used to be for the businessman-turned-politician. His marriage to Lolade hit the rocks and society watchers have seen little of the once ubiquitous businessman ever since.

His political career has also appeared not to be so rosy. The wealthy socialite was one of the aspirants who jostled for the governorship ticket of the People’s Democratic Party in Ekiti State.
