    Afrobeats icon Davido has thrown his weight behind Asake, Rema, and Omah Lay, naming them as the leading male artistes that could be regarded as the next greatest of all time in the Nigerian music scene.

    During a recent appearance on Carter Efe’s Twitch livestream on Wednesday night, Davido praised the trio for their exceptional work and growing global presence.

    Asked who the next GOAT is after him, Davido replied, “Right now, for me, I say, between Asake, Omah Lay, or Rema. If you ask me. I think they’ve done exceptionally well.”

    He noted that his assessment focused on male artists, while acknowledging the achievements of leading female stars like Tems and Ayra Starr.

    “Obviously, we have Tems, Ayra Starr, stuff like, I’m talking about males. Those three, killing it, you know what I’m saying,” he said.

    Davido expressed his admiration for the trio, highlighting their international impact.

    “Omah Lay, obviously, my brother. Rema loves him so much. Asake, I have so much love for him as well. They’re all doing amazingly well. Especially globally. It’s just amazing to be in America and just see them. You know I’m saying. It is not easy,” he added.

    The debate around who qualifies as the greatest of all time has remained a recurring theme in Afrobeats, especially as the genre continues its rapid global expansion.

    “We eventually exchanged numbers, and we were going back-and-forth with music. We did about four songs, and he chose ‘With You’ as the one we would release,” he explained.
