Why dating below my ‘class’ hard – Kiddwaya

Kiddwaya, son of billionaire Terry Waya and reality star, has opened up about why he avoids dating women who are financially unstable.

In a podcast appearance on Off The Record, he stated that women from lower-income backgrounds often develop a sense of entitlement when exposed to his affluent lifestyle.

The billionaire heir said they may be humble and appreciative, but over time, they start comparing themselves to others and expecting luxury items and experiences.

Kiddwaya noted that this shift in attitude can lead to relationship issues, with entitlement sometimes manifesting as rudeness.

He further opined that bringing someone from a lower financial background into his world can be challenging, and he’s learned to prioritise relationships with individuals who share similar values and energy.

He said: “At first, they’re thankful everything feels new and exciting. But after a few months, they start comparing themselves to others.

“They want the same bags, the same trips, and soon, what was once special becomes expected. The entitlement sets in and sometimes turns into rudeness. That’s been my biggest issue dating someone from a lower class and bringing them into my lifestyle.”

“I was on my bed pressing my phone because that’s none of my business- na person wey do fraud go dey run. Next thing, I heard a loud noise from downstairs. They broke my kitchen door, entered my house, and were like, ‘Hey, hey, where’s your phone?’ I don’t even have a laptop, just two phones. They collected them and took me to their office.”

“I feel like when I came out I should have sued them because they collected money from me before they released me for nothing, absolutely nothing. I spent four, five days in their cell. But you know Nigeria – before I now sue them and start fighting for the money they collected from me, I’ll spend another money,” he added.

“The system is just messed up because I don’t know why I was locked up till date. They suffered me. You know Nigeria, before I’ll sue them and start spending money, it’s crazy. I can’t go through all of that stress, that was why I locked up,” he said.

Odumodublvck weighs in on politics, race

Rapper Odumodublvck has spoken on the country’s political system and the struggles of Black people in America.

In an interview with BET,  Odumodublvck criticised the tendency of Nigerians to blame the President for every national problem, ignoring the roles of local government and state officials.

“You have a local government, you have your councillor, you have your senator, the guys that are directly in charge of you, but when anything happens, they say ‘ah, Tinubu’. You’re a small fish to the president. The guy that is supposed to take care of you is the one opposite you. But that’s what you get when you use that kind of policy to govern a people – when everybody’s sovereignty is in the hands of one man,” he said.

On politics, Odumodublvck stated that concentrating power in one person creates a system vulnerable to manipulation and corruption.

“If he’s a good man, they can take away your liberty by threatening him. What if he’s a man who waited 20 years for a child, becomes a governor, and they tell him, ‘If you don’t do this corruption, we’ll harm your daughter’? Even if he wants to help the people, he doesn’t have a choice,” he said.

He emphasised that democracy is weakened when sovereignty is in the hands of one man, and that this system can lead to problems for citizens.

“If the sovereignty is in the hand of one man, there’s a problem. I’ve said what I need to say,” he added.

On the struggles of Black people in America, the rapper urged the community to move beyond the victim mentality and take advantage of new opportunities.

He acknowledged the suffering of Black people in America but pointed out that it’s time to forgive and focus on progress.

Odumodublvck also compared the struggles of Black people in America to those in Africa, stating that the latter have faced more severe hardships, including suffering at the hands of their own people.

“We cannot deny that America is now a better place for Black people. Black people have suffered in America, yes, but it’s time to step away from the victim mentality. We now have Black-owned businesses, a former Black president, people doing well in sports – now is the time to fly”, he added.
