    Akindele expressed her excitement and gratitude on social media, highlighting the film’s achievement as the biggest opening in 2025.

    She thanked fans in Nigeria for their support, calling it a huge success.

    She also thanked her UK and Ireland fans, stating that they made it the biggest Nollywood opening weekend ever.

    “We’re showing up and not giving up! Big ups, Naija! Huge thank you for coming out to support BEHIND THE SCENES at the cinemas! We broke another record, the biggest opening in 2025!

    “A massive shoutout to our UK and Ireland fans, you guys made it the biggest Nollywood opening weekend EVER! #BehindTheScenes is still showing in cinemas nationwide and select Odeon Cinemas in the UK & Ireland. It’s a MUST WATCH for family and friends,” she wrote.

    The governor visited the movie locations in Ado Ekiti and expressed his admiration for the project’s historical accuracy, scale, and attention to detail.

    According to Oyebanji, the film is a major cultural initiative that preserves and celebrates Ekiti’s rich heritage, and he commended the production team for their professionalism, creativity, and respect for Ekiti history.

    The governor emphasised the importance of preserving Ekiti’s history, stating that “a people without a properly told history risk losing their identity”.

    Oyebanji wrote, “I visited the movie locations of the Ekiti Parapo War film currently being shot across different locations in Ado Ekiti, and I am impressed by the scale, depth, and commitment to historical accuracy on display.

    “Our history matters. A people without a properly told history risk losing their identity, and that is why my administration remains committed to the preservation and proper documentation of Ekiti’s heritage for present and future generations.

    “Although this project is not sponsored by the Ekiti State Government, I am glad to support initiatives like this by mobilising goodwill from friends and partners who share our belief in telling our stories by ourselves. I commend Lateef Adedimeji, Bimpe Adedimeji, and the entire production team for their professionalism, creativity, and respect for Ekiti history.

    The Ekiti Parapo War film, which tells the story of the 16-year civil conflict between the Ekiti people and Ibadan imperialism, is a collaborative effort between AL Notions Film Company and the Ekiti State Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy.

    The film will feature Ekiti towns and villages as primary filming locations and involve numerous talented artists, including those of Ekiti origin.

    The project followed the couple’s successful Netflix biopic, Lisabi, and aims to present the story of the Ekiti Parapo conflict to a global audience.

    Relationship therapist Blessing CEO has expressed joy after her partner, Ikechukwu Darry Ogobnna, popularly known as IVD, was discharged and acquitted in the case surrounding the death of his wife.

    Blessing announced that IVD was cleared of all charges on December 15, bringing to an end what she described as a four-year ordeal filled with tears and false narratives.

    In a post shared on Instagram, she praised Nigeria’s justice system and congratulated IVD on regaining his freedom and life.

    “Discharged and acquitted…15th December 2025. It ended in praise. Four years of tears and false narratives. Nigeria’s justice system still works. I am proud of my country. Ikechukwu Darry Ogobnna, IVD, you can now have your life back. Congratulations,” she wrote.

    She also advised people to walk away from toxic marriages and relationships before they spiral out of control.

    “If marriage or relationship no dey work, please run, don’t wait for anybody to pass. Run,” she added.

    IVD was arrested in August at the airport over a domestic violence case linked to his late wife, Bimbo. At the time, Blessing insisted there was no travel ban placed on him and accused some individuals of bullying and harassment.

    Award-winning actress and producer Funke Akindele’s latest film, “Behind The Scenes,” has made history as the biggest opening weekend of 2025, crossing over the N200 million mark in just one weekend.

    The feat further solidifies Akindele’s position as a box office powerhouse.

    According to the film’s distributor, FilmOne Entertainment, “Behind The Scenes” has broken five opening-weekend records, becoming the first Nollywood film this year to achieve such an impressive feat.

    The caption reads, “We call her the Queen of Box Office for a reason! Thank you, Nigeria, for showing up, filling cinemas, and spreading the word. Behind The Scenes crossed ₦200M in just one weekend, broke five opening-weekend records, and became the biggest opening of 2025! It’s your love that made this possible.”

    The film’s advanced screening on December 10 and 11 generated significant buzz among audiences, paving the way for its nationwide release on December 12.

    The film boasts an all-star cast, including Scarlet Gomez, Iyabo Ojo, Destiny Etiko, Tobi Bakre, and Uche Montana, among others.

    Her previous film, “Everybody Loves Jenifa,” became Nollywood’s biggest opening weekend of all time, surpassing her earlier record set by “A Tribe Called Judah,” which opened with N113 million.

    “Everybody Loves Jenifa” went on to become the highest-grossing Nollywood film ever, earning over N1.8 billion in Nigeria and additional revenue from international markets.
