President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has bestowed national honours, generous cash rewards, and brand-new homes upon the triumphant Super Falcons, celebrating their remarkable conquest on the continental stage.

The grand occasion unfolded at the State House in Abuja yesterday, where the team was received in a ceremony befitting champions, following their historic triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco on Sunday night.

They defeated the host team 3-2, coming from 0-2 down.

In tribute to their unprecedented 10th WAFCON title—a feat that etched their names in African football history—President Tinubu conferred upon each player and member of the coaching staff the prestigious national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), marking a proud and memorable chapter in the nation’s sporting legacy.

They also got three bedroom apartment each at the Renewed Hope Initiative Housing Estate and equivalent of $100,000 for the 24 players and $50,000 equivalent for the 11 officials

The ceremony was attended by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, represented by Senator Abdul Ningi.

The team was led to the Villa by National Sports Commission (NSC) chairman SHehu Dikko.

The excited players sang praise of the President and his wife as the President reeled out one after the other, the gifts.

The President told the players: “You have inspired me, too. And it’s great for a nation to have assets that are the hope of today, tomorrow, and the day after.

“You represent that hope. You ignited that hope. And we will continue to encourage you, the next generation, and other generations after you”

The President recounted the emotional moments of the final match, noting how the team’s performance lifted the nation’s spirits and united Nigerians from all walks of life.

“Your victory represents more than a sporting accomplishment. It is a triumph of courage, determination, discipline, and consistency.

“Honestly, I didn’t want to watch the match. I didn’t want to have high blood pressure. But people came in and turned my TV on that channel. When it was 2-0, I got very offended and restless.

“But I was still watching with the spirit of resilience, determination, and courage. And after that penalty, my strength was lifted, and I believe that of the nation was lifted too.

“But you almost made me angrier because your mother (the First Lady) was in the kitchen, nearly abandoning my dinner,’’ he said.

The President assured the team of his administration’s continued support and commitment to sports development, pledging that the government would invest further in women’s football and youth talent development across the country.

“Your story is a story of hope. And in this era of Renewed Hope, we celebrate you not just as champions of Africa, but as champions of the Nigerian dream”, he said.

  • SDP NWC expels El-Rufai for 30 years

SDP NWC expels El-Rufai for 30 years

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the social Democratic Party (SDP) has expelled former Kaduna Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, from the party.

SDP said El-Rufai is ineligible to associate with the party in any capacity for the next 30 years.

The party also accused El-Rufai of falsely parading himself as a party member, manipulating internal processes, and attempting to destabilize the party through unconstitutional actions and deceptive political maneuvers.

According to a statement in Abuja by the National Publicity Secretary, Araba Rufus Aiyenigba, SDP said the party’s NWC reached the decision following thorough investigations into El-Rufai’s controversial claims of membership and his alleged backdoor political activities.

Aiyenigba said: ” El-Rufai never registered with the SDP at his ward level as required by the party’s constitution, yet falsely declared on social media that he had joined the party.

“He further forged documents claiming membership and took photo opportunities with suspended party leaders to reinforce this falsehood”.

According to the SDP, El-Rufai’s conduct was marked by; “gross indiscipline, misinformation, inducement, and manipulation,” which allegedly fueled internal divisions and threatened the party’s unity and ideological integrity.

SDP also accused him of aligning with another political party, African Democratic Congress (ADC), while trying to draw the SDP into an unapproved political coalition.

SDP said; “Having confirmed that he publicly declared for the ADC and continued to act in a manner contrary to the principles and practices of the SDP, the party has no option but to disassociate and excommunicate him.

“Consequently, El-Rufai has been banished and banned from applying to the membership, identifying with the name, insignia, logo, or participating in any affairs of the SDP for a period of 30 years, effective immediately”.

The SDP called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other relevant institutions to take note of El-Rufai’s non-member status, warning that he is not authorized to act or speak on behalf of the party.

Reaffirming its commitment to internal democracy, national patriotism, and principled opposition, the party urged all Nigerians aspiring to join its ranks to do so through lawful and transparent means.

The statement reads in part; “In line with the Constitution of the SDP, the ideology, manifesto, principles and practices thereof, and in consonance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Electoral Act pertaining to the exclusive right of a political party to determine its membership, the National Working Committee deliberated on the controversial membership status of Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai from Kaduna State who has in recent months been parading himself as a member of the SDP despite the assertion of the Kaduna State Executives that he has not joined the SDP but has instead been promoting the activities of other political party in the State.

“At the initial stage, this individual Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai was given the benefit of the doubt given his status as an elderly person, a former Minister and State Governor who should know the implications of false representation and impersonation, especially given the fact that he published on his social media handles that he had joined the SDP which led to congratulatory messages from prominent leaders of our party and a letter of support at his request by the National Publicity Secretary.

    “However upon thorough inquiry, it turned out that the Kaduna State SDP was right and this individual had not joined the SDP. The following facts emerged: Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai failed to register at his Ward as required by the law despite falsely publishing on social media that he had joined the SDP;

    “El-Rufai devoted so much time to putting up false representation of membership by seeking photo opportunities with the suspended National Chairman Shehu Musa Gabam and some leaders of the SDP who assumed that he had joined the SDP in Kaduna State; El-Rufai was confronted by serious eligibility problems given an unpleasant history of intolerance and persecution of the SDP as an opposition party during his time as the Governor of Kaduna State under the APC;

“Apparently to run away from his past, El-Rufai proposed an elaborate welcome ceremony at the SDP National Secretariat in Abuja but was politely counseled that such a jamboree was not tenable and he should go home to register at his Ward in Kaduna State after passing simple eligibility interview and on boarding process.

“Rather than register lawfully with the Ward Executives, this individual simply forged his own documents and self-registered and arrogated to himself “number 001 in the SDP membership register of Unguwar Sarki Ward, Kaduna North Local Government Area”, as if the Ward had no single member prior to his purported joining. This is contrary to all existing and updated records of the SDP in Kaduna State.

“His dodgy membership status aside, El-Rufai has been illegitimately trading with the name of the SDP in various forums and other  political transactions around the so-called Coalition, despite knowing that he has no such authority and contrary to the declared policy of the SDP National Working Committee and other organs.

“Additionally, despite his opaque status, innumerable have been the destabilising schemes of the said Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai against the SDP at both national, state and local levels such that peace which was the hallmark of the SDP has eluded the party since he began fraternising with our leadership and membership.

“The NWC therefore and hereby decides that by confirming and ratifying the denunciation of Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai which was earlier done by his Unguwar Sarki Ward, Kaduna North Local Government Area and Kaduna State Executive Committee in Kaduna State, the SDP at all levels disassociates, disclaims, disfellowships, excommunicates Nasir Ahmad Elrufai as a member of the SDP;  and to the extent that he purportedly claims membership by self registration or any other means, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai is consequently  expelled from the membership of the Social Democratic Party anywhere in Nigeria and globally.

“The foregoing actions by the NWC, which are in the exercise of its exclusive powers as guaranteed in Article 19.1; 19.3(i) and 19.5 of the Party Constitution 2022, (as amended) are consequent upon the  unacceptable acts of gross indiscipline of Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, particularly, in respect of the undeniable fact of having publicly declared for the ADC, which is chosen as their so-called ‘coalition’ vehicle and his confirmed acts towards dragging the SDP dishonestly into their so-called coalition through the back door; and his selfish agenda to destabilise the party (having failed in his mission), by way of sponsoring a group of dissidents to call an illegal National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the Party on Friday July 25, 2025, Nasir Ahmad Elrufai is hereby banished and banned from applying to the membership, identifying with the name, insignia, logo, symbol, mark or any activities, organs, agencies and institutions of the SDP or donating to, supporting, contributing to, participating in any affairs of the SDP for a period of 30 (thirty) years effective from today.

“Members of the SDP across Nigeria and the general public are by this public notice informed that Mallam Nasiru Ahmad El-Rufai is not a member of the SDP, and does not represent the interests of the Party at any level, and for any purpose or to any intent.

“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and relevant agencies and institutions are hereby notified of the non-member status and non-eligibility of Mallam Nasiru Ahmad El-Rufai for SDP membership effective until Wednesday July 28, 2055.

“The SDP is committed to national patriotism, party discipline, ideological clarity, moral rectitude, candour, honour, integrity, principled opposition, fair contest and internal democracy. We welcome all Nigerians who subscribe to these ideals and have the revolutionary patience to move the Nigerian people towards Abolition of Corruption and Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity, without cutting corners and indulging in duplicity or insincerity”.

  • Reps propose all elections for one day in 2027

Reps propose all elections for one day in 2027

The House of Representatives has proposed a single day for the conduct of the five elections in 2027.

If the proposal is upheld, the reviewed Electoral Act would empower the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to simultaneously conduct the presidential, senatorial, House of Representatives, governorship and House of Assembly polls in one day.

Other amendments being proposed by the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly include the payment of N50 million by political associations seeking registration as parties, restriction of presidential election expenses to N10 billion, conduct of elections 120 days before the expiration of the incumbent’s term and determination of election petitions within 90 days after the exercise.

The House also took steps to end series of by-elections arising from resignation and death of elected members of the state and National Assembly, proposing that parties who sponsored the lawmaker who died or resigned be made to produce his replacement.

The Electoral Bill 2025 titled:  “A bill for an Act to repeal the Electoral Act No 13, 2022 and to enact the Electoral Act 2025, to regulate the conduct of Federal, State and Area Councils in the Federal Capital Territory elections and for related matters” had passed through the Second Reading in the House

The bill sponsored by the Chairman of the House Committee on Electoral Matters, Bayo Balogun (APC, Lagos), also seeks the payment of an administrative fee of N50 by political associations before the application is processed.

Although the 202acAct provides that such associations would be required to pay an administrative fee, the amount is left it to the discretion of INEC.

Also, the proposed amendment seeks to restrict governorship election expenses to N3 billion, representing an increase from N1 billion in the 2022 Electoral Act.

Senatatorial, House of Representatives, Houses of Assembly, Chairmanship and Councillorship election expenses are restricted to N500 million, N250 million, N30 million (for State Assembly and Chairman) and N10 million respectively.

According to the proposed review, “no individual or other entity shall donate to a candidate more than N500 million.”

Clause 27 of the proposed law states that elections at all levels shall be held not earlier than 210 days and not later than 30 days before the expiration of the tenure of office of the occupants of the office, adding that “where a vacancy occurs in any of the Houses mentioned in sub-section (1) more than 90 days before the date of general elections, an election shall be held to fill such vacancy not later than 30 days after the occurrence of the vacancy.”

The 2022 Electoral Act makes it mandatory for INEC to declare a notice of election 360 days before the conduct of the election.

However, the proposed amendment states that “without prejudice to subsections 1 and 3 above, apart from off- circle elections, all the elections shall hold the same day”.

It adds: “Every political party shall, not later than 210 days before the date appointed for a general election under this Act, submit to the Commission, in the prescribed Forms, the list of the candidates the party proposes to sponsor at the elections, who must have emerged from valid primaries conducted by the political party.

“The list or information submitted by each candidate shall be accompanied by an affidavit sworn to by the candidate at the Federal High Court, High Court of a State, or Federal Capital Territory, indicating that he or she has fulfilled all the constitutional requirements for election into that office.

“The Commission shall, within 21 days of the receipt of the personal particulars of the candidate, publish same in the constituency where the candidate intends to contest the election.

“A person may apply to the Commission for a copy of nomination form, affidavit and any other document submitted by a candidate at an election and the Commission shall, upon payment of a prescribed fee, issue such person with a certified true copy of the document within 14 days.

“A aspirant who participated in the primaries of his political party who has reasonable grounds to believe that any information given by the political party’s candidate in the affidavit or any document submitted by that candidate in relation to his constitutional requirements to contest the election is false, may file a suit at the Federal High Court in the jurisdiction where the course of action arose against that candidate seeking a Submission of list of candidates and their affidavits by political parties declaration that the information contained in the affidavit is false.

“Where the Court determines that any of the information contained in the affidavit is false only as it relates to constitutional requirements of eligibility, the Court shall issue an order disqualifying the candidate and the sponsoring political party”.

The law makes it an offence for any one to present himself for election without meeting the stipulated qualification, adding that an impostor risks a fine of N5 million and the party presenting an unqualified candidate will be liable on conviction to a fine of not less than N10 million.

It also state that political parties shall not be allowed to change or substitute its candidate whose name has been submitted under Section 28 of this Act, except in the case of death or withdrawal by the candidate in accordance with Section 30, provided that in the case of such withdrawal or death of a candidate, the political party affected shall, within 14 days of the occurrence of the event, hold another primary election to produce and submit a new candidate to the Commission for the election concerned.

Clause 40 of the law states that “where an elected member of a Legislative house at any level of government resigns, dies or is otherwise unable to continue in office before the expiration of the tenure for which the member was elected, the political party under whose platform the member was elected shall have the mandate to nominate a replacement from within the party in accordance with the procedure for nomination of candidates in section 84 (2).”

It also states that the nomination process for such replacement “shall be made within sixty (60) days after the seat is declared vacant by the presiding officer due to resignation, death, or incapacity of the member” and “the National Chairman of the political party shall submit the name of the nominated replacement to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ratification and issuance of a Certificate of return”.

The commission is however, expected to issue a certificate of return to the candidate so nominated after ratification and the nominated member shall be deemed to have been duly elected and shall be sworn-in accordingly, without the need for a by-election.

The proposed amendment also set aside a date for security personnel; officials of the Commission; accredited domestic observers; accredited journalists; and ad-hoc staff of the Commission to cast their votes under a procedure to be determined by the Commission, adding that “a person whose name is on the early voter’s list shall not vote on the official day scheduled for the respective election”.

The proposed law is silent on the use of Permanent Voters cards for accreditation during elections.

But it states that “a person intending to vote in an election shall present himself to a Presiding Officer for accreditation at the polling unit in the constituency in which his name is registered, and shall provide any of “(a) an electronically generated voter identification, including a downloadable voter’ card with a unique QR code; or (b) any other form of identification as may be prescribed in section 10 (2).

Section 10(2) required the presentation of a Nigerian birth certificate, Nigerian Passport or National Identification Number for the purpose of participating in the continuous voter registration.

    (2) To vote, the Presiding Officer shall use a Bimodal Voter Accreditation System or any other technological device that may be prescribed by the Commission, for the accreditation of voters, to verify, confirm or authenticate the particulars of the intending voter in the manner prescribed by the Commission.

Clause 60(5) provide for an electronic and manual transmission of election results saying “the Presiding Officer shall transmit the results including total number of accredited voters to the next level of collation both electronically and manually”, while also saying in subsection 6 that “a Presiding Officer who willfully contravenes any provision of this section commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine of not less than N 500,000 or imprisonment for a term of not less than six months or both”.

The law also required every political party to submit its register of members, both in soft and hard copy to the commission not later than 30 days before the conduct of any party primary, congresses of convention, adding that “only members whose names are contained in the register shall be eligible to vote and be voted for in party primaries, congresses and conventions.”

“Nothing in this section shall empower the Courts to stop the holding of primaries or general elections under this Act pending the determination of a suit”.

While requiring that an election petition be filed within 21 days after the date of the declaration of results of the election, the proposed law states that it also says that every pre-election matter shall be filed not later than 14 days from the date of the occurrence of the event, decision or action complained of in the suit.

It said further that “the Election Tribunal or court shall deliver its judgement in writing within 90 days from the date of filing the petition, while appeal arising from the decision of an Election Tribunal or court shall be filed not later than 14 days from the date of delivery of judgement appealed against. It however, statesthat “an act or omission which may be contrary to an instruction or directive of the Commission or of an officer appointed for the purpose of the election but which is not contrary to the provisions of this Act shall not of itself be a ground for questioning the election”.

In addition, it seeks to deter frivolous election suits, stating that “where the court makes a determination that an election is being questioned by a political party or candidate on grounds outside of those provided for under subsection (1), the court shall impose penalties of not less than N5,000,000 on the counsel and not less than N10,000,000 on the petitioner”.

Our expectations from Yilwatda, by Kalu, Southsouth leaders

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives  Benjamin Kalu and Southsouth leaders of the All Progressives Congress(APC) have expressed confidence that the new National  Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda will strengthen and position the ruling party for victory in the 2027 general election.

They said at the weekend that Yilwatda’s   ‘’outstanding leadership qualities’’   and  ‘’tireless dedication’’ to the nation are huge assets to the APC.

Also, the  PBAT (President Bola Ahmed Tinubu) Door-to-Door Campaign, a group founded by Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo   (Tompolo),  said  the choice of Yilwatda  ‘’bodes well for the future of the party.’’

Kalu, the Southsouth APC leaders and the Tompolo-funded group congratulated the new chairman  for his emergence.

Until his appointment, Yilwatda was the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

The deputy speaker, who is also the founder of Renewed Hope Partners (RHP),

added that  the ‘’unanimous adoption’’ of  the Plateau State-born   Professor of Information, Communication and Technology(ICT)   by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the APC was  a “distinguished honour.”

Kanu said he did not doubt that Yilwatda’s unwavering commitment and tireless dedication to the nation’s progress will reflect on his new office.

He emphasised the commitment of the APC Caucus in the House to collaborate with the Yilwatda-led  APC National Working Committee(NWC) to drive national development and implement party policies.

Kalu, who also assured the new chairman of the support and collaboration of the  RHP, expressed confidence that his vision and leadership would inspire a new wave of progress and development in the ruling party.

He said: “Dear chairman, congratulations on your emergence as the national chairman of our party. This distinguished honour is a reflection of your outstanding leadership, unwavering commitment, and tireless dedication to our nation’s progress.

“Your adoption testifies to your capabilities, and I am confident that your vision and leadership will inspire a new wave of progress and development.’’

APC leaders in the Southsouth, who described the emergence of Yilwatda as a masterstroke,   said they did not doubt that he would deliver on his mandate.

The leaders include chairman of the APC in Delta State  Omeni Sobotie, his Akwa Ibom State counterpart, Stephen Ntukekpo; Bayelsa State Publicity Secretary,  Doifie Buokoribo; pioneer APC chairman in Delta State Jones Erue;  Dortimi Tawari and Udengs Eradiri.

They were unanimous in their belief that Yilwatda’s appointment had brought balance to the APC.

Sobotie noted that his emergence also brought to an end arguments that the APC’s top leadership positions were filled with Muslims.

He said with Yilwatda at the helm of the party’s affairs, there would be equity and fairness for members

Sobotie said: “We were all involved in making a decision. So, we have made the decision, and it balances a lot of things.

“He is coming in with a lot of experience and skill, and for those who were accusing us of having a national chairman that is Muslim, President, Muslim, Vice-President, Muslim, Yilwatda being a Christian has shut them up.

“He is coming in with a lot of things. When a man comes in with the type of experience the national chairman has, you are sure that equity, justice and fair play will come into being,” he said.

Erue, who is Soboti’s predecessor, said the new national chairman would steer the party toward greater heights.

He described him as a “square peg in a square hole,” perfectly suited for his new role, saying he saw him as a catalyst for meaningful change.

Erue added: “We welcome him as the chairman of the party. I believe that the new national chairman is a significant asset to the APC. His youthful energy and vibrancy will undoubtedly contribute positively to the party’s dynamics.”  In Uyo,   Ntukekpo said  Yilwatda would propel and galvanise national and grassroots presence ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He said: “Prof. Yilwatde, and with President Tinubu’s backing, is poised to galvanise the party to victory on all fronts and build new political bridges between state chapters and the national leadership. We envision attracting more members and securing resounding victories in the 2027 elections.

“As Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development in the present administration, we all saw the feats he recorded, and we are also aware of his contributions to the emergence and success of the Tinubu administration as a key member of the 2023 presidential campaign organisation. The APC family is definitely in for good times in the hands of Prof Yilwatda.”

APC’s spokesman in  Bayelsa State, Buokoribo, described Yilwatda’s emergence as a welcome development and “a game changer” in the quest for victory in the  2027 general election.

He urged Yiltwada to roll up his sleeves and work with the party at the state levels to ensure power is retained at the centre and all the states in the federation.

Buokoribo, however,  urged the new national chairman to ensure fairness and justice for every chapter of the party.

His words:  “We expect that the new chairman will roll up his sleeves and work with the party at the state level to ensure that the party retains power at the centre and all other states in the federation. Given his pedigree in public office, we do not expect anything less. His public life has been remarkable. He is a square peg in a square hole.

“The biggest challenge for the new chairman in Bayelsa, as with other states, is to ensure he conducts the forthcoming primaries with the fear of God and respect for the wishes of members of the party.”

Also,  Tawari, a lawyer, said the party’s decision to reach out to the people of the Middle Belt, the northern Christian community and the northern minorities was a game changer.

“It is a game-changer. One thing I will give to the APC and Mr. President, in particular, is the ability to see far politically and take pragmatic actions to that effect”, he said.

Another party chief, Eradiri, said the emergence of Yilwatda was another endorsement of Tinubu’s knack for taking difficult but calculated decisions for growth and development.

Eradiri said: “I want to congratulate the APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the recent appointment of the new party chairman. He has been true to his loyalty to the APC and has distinguished himself. His pedigree and experience will go a long way to put the party on the path of progress. You can see that nobody opposed his emergence. He will take the party to the next level.”

Eradiri urged Yilwatda to ensure internal democracy by giving equal opportunities to members.

  • JUST IN: Tinubu will win re-election in 2027, Fayose declares

JUST IN: Tinubu will win re-election in 2027, Fayose declares

    …says he won’t leave PDP

…predict election results for Peter Obi, Atiku, ADC, PDP

Ayodele Fayose, former governor of Ekiti State, has predicted that President Bola Tinubu would secure re-election in 2027 general election despite dissenting from the coalitions of opposition figures in the country.

Fayose, a strong stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said President Tinubu remained unbeatable in the upcoming election owing to his leadership qualities and understanding of Nigerian political systems.

He spoke on a radio programme aired on Adaba 88.9 Fm in Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Sunday and monitored by the Nation.

“I do not deceive myself. Tinubu will win in 2027. Although I’m not a member of his party (APC) but he will surely win and get re-elected again. If you remember, Asiwaju (Tinubu) was not supported by his party in 2023.

“Those against him then even came up with manners of things that could stop him. You could remember what former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, did with our Naira to stop him.

“Even the late Muhammadu Buhari did not support him, but he still won. It is because Tinubu understands politics and the game. He would win again, I can bet it with anyone. So, is it now that those who called themselves coalition will now win him? No, I don’t deceive myself,” he said.

Fayose explained that his support for President Tinubu was “personal,” saying he still remained in the PDP and would not leave for APC, despite the crack and division in the opposition party.

Amid the division, the former governor also predicted a bleak future for the PDP, warning that the umbrella party may not even finish among the top three in the 2027 general elections.

“So, I will never decampe. I will never go to APC. When your family is in crisis, do you leave the party? No, I better be there and be fighting within and see to the election exercise. Mr Peter Obi will come second. PDP will come fourth in the 2027 general election.”

According to him, the PDP has been left in ‘carcass’ with the defection of its key members from the party to the African Democratic Party (ADC) and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He also lambasted the leadership of the PDP for undermining him despite his sacrifices to the development of the party, adding that his support for former Rivers governor and current minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike during the crisis in the opposition party was out of respect.

“There’s nothing to destroy again in PDP because it’s no longer a party. I labour in this party and to whom much is giving, much is also expected. I have paid my dues for the PDP. The majority of them in the ADC today drew the strength of the PDP, including Rotimi Amaechi, David Mark, and Nasir El-Rufia.

“I’m not a member of the APC, but those who accuse me of anti-party then are now leaving PDP in droves. The problem of PDP is self-inflicted. The party is even in more trouble and shambles.

“Obi was a former PDP governor in his Anambra and Atiku was a former vice president who continued to come in and exit but Wike stay in the party, funded the party and you don’t want me to support such person,” Fayose added.

He called for support for the governor of Ekiti, Abiodun Oyebanji, ahead of the state governorship election, saying those against his re-election in the state are enemies of progress.

Fayose, however, added that his support for Governor Oyebanji was because of the development projects embarked upon by his administration, stressing that all the past governors of Ekiti have decided to throw their support for his re-election bid.
