SPO Group CEO Adekunle pays condolence visit to NSA, announces launch of drone plant

After paying a condolence visit to the National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu over the demise of his brother, the Group Chief Operating Officer of SP Offshore Group, Obafemi Adekunle has announced the company’s plan for a military grade drone manufacturing plant launch with cutting edge technologies, a first of its kind in Nigeria.

The launch, which is scheduled for the third quarter, was announced in a statement by the Group Company Secretary, Ms Mina Park-Okoloko over the secretary.

According to the statement, SPO Group is incorporated with subsidiaries on three continents powered by hedge/private equity funds, focused on investing in or acquiring privately owned companies in the field of defense, IT, financial services, technology, real estate, oil and gas, FMCG, port operations and other sectors, with significant business presence or operations in sub-saharan Africa. the company also specializes in structured lending.

“Our deep local knowledge and broad relationship network, affords us an easy access to capital, proprietary deal flow and key sector insight. SPO primary objective is to achieve attractive returns while maintaining a strong risk management strategy.

“The defense industry in Africa is a strategic and economic asset, and from a socio-economic point of view, the industry contributes significantly to sustaining the military capabilities of African states. It is growing rapidly, with Algeria, Nigeria, and South Africa, already making intra-regional military equipment sales.

“Africa needs a capable defense industry for strategic reasons because of the instability in the continent and the need to be able to protect against the effect of the instability from the Middle East. It is to that that effect that SPO Dynamics Systems was created.

“With a projected  production capacity of 1,000 drones monthly, making it the largest drone plant in Africa , the company aims to transform industries like defense, energy, logistics, agriculture , law enforcement agencies like Customs , Immigration, Police etc.

“We are a private defense, military and intelligence contractors. With our various partners across the globe particularly with one of the largest tactical training centers in the world with R & D labs, we provide the following services:

    1- Military and Tactical Training

2- Ship boarding Simulators and Security Vessels

3- Air Combats Simulators and Helicopters

4- Threat Assessment and Data Tracking

5- Weapons, Drones and Combat Equipments

    6- Port and Airport Security

    7- Pipeline Surveillance and Protection.”

The Group CEO said : “The West  doesn’t make  drones based on Africa’s needs . China , Israel, the United States and others  develop and test their drones first for their security issues and decide on the features to commercialise because they do not like to commercialize all their researches and innovations . We now purchase or order these drones to adapt them to our terrain.

“Sometimes they wait 10-20 years to make some technologies available on the market , which put us at disadvantage mostly because imagine being 10-20 years behind when we could have developed our own technology during that time.

“Also they are not bound to sell those technologies to us . It’s at their discretion and subjected to many factors, sometimes out of our control, which puts us in a vulnerable state when we are fighting a war and our people are dying. We have seen it happen  during President Goodluck administration.

“One thing about cutting edge technology is that they need to be extremely precise. Their accuracy determines their efficiency . I am a defense contractor and I can confidently tell you that we need the technologies that we are using to fight crimes or defend our territorial integrity to be made in africa .We need to design our own drones based on our environmental complexities .

“You would agree with me that drones that are made to perform in winter and other seasons might be a good option but they might not be the greatest compared to the ones from R & D to production done in africa exclusively . That’s what we are trying to change with SPO Dynamics Systems. Look at turkey , they have Bayraktar , Anka  and many more, I believe Nigeria is more than ready and SPO is focused on the entire African defense market.”

Kwara cabinet okays new road construction

The Kwara Executive Council has approved several road construction projects in different parts of the State to shore up Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s extensive urban renewal campaign.

At its meeting on Wednesday evening, the council approved a contract for the construction of the Phase I of the road to the Owu Fall, the highest waterfall in West Africa measuring 120m above water level and cascading 330 feet down an escarpment, a major boost for tourism in not just the state but in Nigeria and West Africa subregion.

The contract, covering 11 kilometres in this phase, was awarded to Messrs FIK Contracting and Engineering Ltd at N3,998,838,427.50 for a completion period of 18 months.

Placed alongside the government’s investment in tourism and conferencing facilities, the project offers a glimpse into how Kwara plans to become a major hub for recreation, tourism, and entertainment.

The cabinet also approved rehabilitation works on the 20km-long Arandun Township Roundabout-Esie-Oro Township Road to Obtuse Tec Engineering and Construction Ltd at N3,821,594,765.63 for a completion period of 10 months, further opening up the Kwara hinterlands for socioeconomic growth.

The council also approved the award of extensive works on the Ajase Ipo-Oke Iya road in Irepodun, spanning 12 kilometres, to Messrs Construction Products Nigeria Ltd at N2,256,879,187.50 for a period of eight months.

The council had also approved construction of Osin-Laduba Road, which connects Ilorin West to Asa local government area in the central senatorial district.

The cabinet also approved the construction of Oke Ogun community-Awolowo road in Ilorin South local government area, further easing travel time within the capital city.

The council also approved the construction of Aboto Oja-Alata Road in Asa, rehabilitation of Omu-Aran Oko Road in Irepodun, and completion of the Idera-Alabe section of the long-spanning Ile District road that had begun from Owode Ofaro, opening up the areas for improved commercial activities and boosting security in the Ifelodun axis of the state.

Chaired by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the council approved the projects following presentations by the Commissioner for Works and Transport Engr. AbdulQuawiy Olododo who also laid bare the procurement process that the Ministry had adhered to.

Rehabilitation works are meanwhile underway on the Ahmadu Bello Way, which connects the entire city centre to different government ministries, major economic facilities, state police command, state headquarters of the department of state security, Government House, and many other important institutions in the state.

Olododo told the council that timely rehabilitation of the road is important to catch up with its approaching good-by date as alligator cracks and minor potholes are beginning to emerge in parts of the artery road.

The council also authorised some rehabilitation and upgrade works on the Ilorin International Conference Centre (IICC) Roundabout-Sulu Gambari-Post Office Road, revving up the urban renewal efforts of the administration.

The council had earlier awarded consultancy work for feasibility studies and development of technical blueprint for the implementation of the 18,000 hectare-Ilorin Smart City to Messrs Arctual Concepts Limited at the cost of N1.4bn.

The smart city, a district modelled after some modern cities in the world, is an offshoot of the Ilorin City Master Plan which the administration designed as an upgrade to the first Ilorin Master Plan drawn up in the 1970s.

Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development Dr. Segun Ogunsola told the council that the consultancy work entails development of the Ilorin Smart City Project Information Memorandum; environmental impact assessment; conceptual architectural and urban planning drawings; detailed land use master plan; among many others.

“In view of the size of the proposed new district, the quantum of resources that would be required and the high-level technicalities that the idea entails, it is necessary to appoint a consultant to midwife the idea and provide professional advisory services and consultancy for smooth, cost effective and seamless implementation of the project,” he said.

Dr. Ogunsola said the Ilorin Smart City will be situated north of the University of Ilorin and south of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, providing a new frontier for sustainable expansion of the capital city and taking away excessive pressure from the capital town.

“It shall have all the facilities and social amenities required to make a modern city function, including educational facilities, healthcare services centres, commercial services facilities, potable water, power supply infrastructure and good road network,” he said.

“Ample provisions would be made for the construction of different scales of housing development, golf course, polo club, and other recreational as well as sporting facilities.”

Bello vs EFCC: Northern youths hail Onokpasa’s stance against injustice

Northern youth groups have refused to relent in their tour to  speak out against what they perceive as the unjust treatment of former Kogi Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The groups, notably the Northern Youth Movement for Good Governance and Democratic Values and the North Central Progressive Voice, joined forces against what they termed the “Northern Nigeria Solidarity Walk and World news Conference,” as they converged on Sokoto today (Wednesday) .

They met stakeholders and praised those speaking out on the issue.

Their primary objective, according to them, is “to seek urgent intervention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the ongoing saga between Alhaji Yahaya Bello and the EFCC,” while also expressing gratitude and admiration for a lawyer,  Jesutega Onokpasa’s vocal stance against perceived injustices within the political sphere.

The coalition began their activities with a World Press Conference  at the NUJ Press Center in Sokoto, where they issued an open letter addressed to President Tinubu, outlining their grievances and urging swift action to resolve the impasse between Bello and the EFCC.

Following the conference, representatives of the groups paid a visit to His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, seeking his intervention as a revered figure capable of fostering peaceful resolutions.  Copies  of the open letter were delivered to the  Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, with a plea for his support in conveying their message to President Tinubu.

The groups emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in addressing what they perceive as political persecution and urged stakeholders to uphold democratic principles.

During the news conference, Mall. Shamsudeen Abubakar Sokoto, the spokesperson for the coalition, hailed Onokpasa  for his recent statements criticising certain elements within the political landscape who allegedly undermined the contributions of stalwarts like Alhaji Yahaya Bello and former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai.

Onokpasa’s vocal condemnation of what he sees as undue political persecution resonated with the coalition, reflecting a broader sentiment within the Northern youth groups.

    …demand Tinubu’s intervention

Northern youth groups in Bauchi and Gombe states have staged peaceful protests in solidarity with former Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, whom they claim is being unjustly persecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The North Central Progressive Voice and the Northern Youth Movement for Good Governance and democratic values led the demonstrations, calling for President Bola Tinubu to intervene.

They believe that the EFCC’s actions are a violation of the rule of law and are seeking to draw attention to this issue.

The protest began in Bauchi, where they convened at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Center for a world news conference, urging Tinubu to intervene.

Following this, they presented an open letter to His Eminence Sheikh Dairu Bauchi, seeking his influential mediation to resolve the crisis peacefully.

The groups marched through the streets of Gombe, causing temporary disruptions as they pressed for justice.

At the Hotel de Unique Gombe, another news conference was held, expressing gratitude to the community and reiterating the call for Tinubu’s intervention.

Representing diverse communities from across the north, the coalition demanded swift action from President Tinubu to address the EFCC’s alleged harassment not only of Bello but also of other individuals facing similar treatment.

Alhaji Ismaila Danladi, the group’s spokesperson, criticized the EFCC’s actions, emphasising the imperative of upholding the rule of law and averting national embarrassment.

In tandem with the news conferences, the coalition penned an urgent appeal to President Tinubu, stressing the critical need for resolution to prevent escalation.

Delivering the plea to the Gombe state governor, Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya, they aimed to expedite its transmission to President Tinubu.

Their message underscores the potency of grassroots movements in safeguarding democratic values.

Amidst widespread condemnation from public figures and legal experts, the coalition remains steadfast in its pursuit of justice, highlighting Bello’s accolades for transparency and accountability during his tenure.

With solidarity walks planned in Kano, Katsina, and Jigawa, their campaign shows no signs of relenting until their call for intervention is heeded.

  • Court adjourns Ali Bello, co-defendant’s case till June 19

Court adjourns Ali Bello, co-defendant’s case till June 19

A Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday adjourned an amended money-laundering charge instituted against Ali Bello and his co-defendant, Daudu Sulaiman, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) until June 19.

Justice James Omotosho adjourned the matter for trial continuation after the EFCC’s counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, led Olom Otane Egoro, a witness, in evidence.

At the resumed hearing, Oyedepo presented Egoro, a staff of Access Bank from the Compliance Unit, as the 6th prosecution witness (PW6) of the Commission.

The banker told the court that the EFCC, via a letter, requested for the bank statement of the Kogi State Government House, for the period of 2018 to 2021.

He said the commission also asked for other documents, including the account opening mandate for the account and certificate of compliance in respect of the printouts.

Oyedepo tendered the documents through the witness and were admitted in evidence accordingly.

Though both counsel to the 1st defendant (Ali Bello), Abubakar Aliyu, SAN, and that of the 2nd defendant, Olusegun Jolaawo, SAN, objected to the admissibility of the documents, they elected to raise the points of objection at the final address stage.

The witness thereafter went through the statement of account, detailing the various deposits into and withdrawals from same via transfers and cash.

From his evidence, Egoro said the withdrawals were not more than N10 million at any point.

The witness also did not state who deposited the monies, what the monies were deposited for or who withdrew the same and for what purpose before concluding his testimony for the day.

Although the matter was initially fixed for May 7 for trial continuation, Aliyu prayed the court for an adjournment on health grounds.

Oyedepo and Jolaawo did not oppose Aliyu’s application.

Justice Omotosho, by agreement of counsel, adjourned the matter until June 19 and June 20 for continuation of trial.

It would be recalled that Ali Bello and Dauda Suleiman, in the charge marked: FHC/ABJ/CR/550/2022, are standing trial on a 10-count charge bordering on money laundering brought against them by the anti-graft agency.

  • Acting Benue APC chair declares loyalty to Gov Alia, urges support for rebuilding process

Acting Benue APC chair declares loyalty to Gov Alia, urges support for rebuilding process

The Acting Chairman of the Benue chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Benjamin Omakolo, has denied claims that Governor Hyacinth Alia, was at loggerheads with the APC structure in the State.

He stated Alia never had issues with the party structure, adding that the Governor had only respected the rule of law and honoured the action of a legitimate party organ.

He said he only respected the Executive Committee of the former chairman Augustine Agada, which suspended him for engaging in anti-party activities during the last general elections.

Speaking at the expanded stakeholders’ meeting of Benue chapter at the Lawn Tennis Court, Government House, Makurdi, Hon. Omakolo further appealed to all the leaders and stakeholders to join hands with Governor Alia to rebuild the party and advance Benue.

He noted that it was idle-minded, mischievous or misguided individuals that created and are spreading the false and misleading narrative that Alia and the APC structure in Benue State were working at cross-purposes, with the aim of pitching the leaders of the party against themselves.

Omakolo, who earlier stated that the gathering was the first expanded stakeholders’ meeting of the Benue APC to be convened since he assumed the mantle of leadership a few months ago, noted that the emergence of a new leadership in the party in the state was necessitated by the pursuit of justice and equity, urging that these tenets should continue to bind the party membership together as they fashion the way forward for the party.

He added many APC members were misled and others misinformed about the true state of affairs in the party, necessitating the urgent need for concerted efforts to keep them abreast of the true state of affairs with the view to bringing them back into the fold.

“Governor Alia simply adhered to the party constitution and allowed the emergence of a new chairman to fill the vacuum left by the former chairman. Let us bear in mind that the preeminent goal of a political party is to capture power through democratic elections.

“All political activities are geared towards the attainment of this goal; hence, we should come together and brace ourselves for the challenges that will be coming up in the coming months and years,” Omakolo stated.

While appealing for the contribution of all APC members at all levels towards rebuilding the party, he thanked all delegates from the party wards and assured them that the state party leadership and the Alia administration will connect with, and work with them in every nook and cranny.

According to him: “I would also like to thank the party’s critical stakeholders for being steadfast in their support for the party and the administration of Rev. Fr. Alia. In the current circumstance, the party needs to stand united and build a common front that would work with unity of purpose to deliver good governance and better the lot of the people of Benue State.”

On the forthcoming local government election, Omakolo reiterated the party’s commitment to providing a level playing field for all aspirants, while respecting the established unwritten zoning order in the LGAs.

Declaring 100 percent loyalty to Alia, Omakolo noted that the manifesto of the party and gubernatorial candidate were inseparable.

He explained the candidate usually aligns his vision with the manifesto of the party, so in the event that he wins, the party will provide the structural support for the success of the administration, to enable the governor deliver effectively on his campaign promises to the people.

“The party structure is essential in ensuring that the social welfare packages and other palliatives released by the state government percolate to all intended beneficiaries at the grassroots. Consequently, it is absolutely necessary for the party to give total loyalty and support to our governor, so that we can achieve the set agenda of the state government. We do recognize the fact that a ruling party is usually attached to the apron strings of the administration it produces. A responsible party does not form parallel structures to that of the administration it produces,” stated Omakolo.

Noting that even airplanes face turbulence on take-off before they reach cruising altitude and enjoy a smooth flight, Hon. Omakolo stated that in the last one year, the Alia Administration had faced great crises, perhaps more than previous administrations in the state since 1999. But, despite these upheavals, the current governor has outperformed all his predecessors in the period under consideration. Omakolo added that Father Alia had charted a new course for the development of Benue State, and is even poised to surpass the record of the golden eras of Chief Aper Aku and Rev. Fr. Moses Adasu.

“No doubt, Benue State is witnessing a revival. Governor Alia’s performance will determine the party’s fortunes in future elections starting with the forthcoming LGA elections. His success will rebuild confidence in the party and earn the trust of the electorate. It will enhance and transform the political fortunes of many of us in this gathering. We must therefore stand by him and ensure that we give him all the support he needs to accomplish his goals in tandem with the party’s constitution,” stated Omakolo.

Alia stated that the party remains united under the leadership of Omakolo and is on the right track to develop Benue, warning those trying to destabilise the state with divisive comments to stay clear as he will not allow anyone to destabilize the government, including those who served the state in the past.

He also enumerated the efforts and achievements of his administration thus far towards ushering a new lease of life to the Benue people and the advancement of the state, while assuring the gathering that nothing is going to distract him from his course; as he will remain focused on his leadership mission until Benue is finally brought out of the woods.

The Governor further stated that the Benue State Government will launch its own local security outfit that will consist of ten thousand youths before the end of May, 2024, to complement the efforts of the other security agencies in tackling security challenges bedeviling the state. While appreciating the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the security agencies in securing the country and the state, Governor Alia said the launch of the State owned security outfit will aid in securing Benue communities, enabling farmers to access their farm lands without fear.

Furthermore, Father Alia said his administration was already working towards procuring Hilux vans and motorcycles that will be used by the new security outfit to access the nooks and crannies of the State.

Alia further informed the part stakeholders that some enemies of the state had gone to invite unknown gunmen to come into Benue and destabilize its peace, but that the government had been able to push the invaders back to where they came from, and will continue to do so until they are all gone, to enable the farmers return to farm to ensure food security for the state.

He explained some local government areas such as Kwande, Ukum, Logo, Gwer East, Gwer West, Guma, Apa, Agatu, were still affected by the attacks, but that the state government will not rest on its oars until the state becomes much safer.

Enumerating some of his achievements in office, the governor said his administration has made tremendous efforts in almost all the sectors, including the construction of rural and urban roads, assuring that he will do more to make Benue a greater state.

He added that even though the government has made a lot of impact in the Health sector,  with the recruitment of over 400 Specialists and non Specialists Staff at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, it still intends  to revamp both the primary and secondary healthcare systems across the state, adding that the School of Nursing will also be re-opened, with the government paying half of the tuition fees for students of Benue indigenes who will be returning back there to study.

The Governor also spoke about his administration’s plan to reintroduce the state scholarship scheme to eligible students of the state, and to encourage skill acquisition programmes and the study of science-related courses for the youths.

While appreciating the federal government for the award of the Overpass at Wurukum roundabout, the governor said over 50 other road networks have also been awarded by the state government across the state, and are to be completed within 12 months.

He said although some people are not happy that his administration is doing things differently from the past, he will continue to ensure that the right thing is done, for the overall good of the state.

Alia appreciated the stakeholders and the entire leadership of the party for always supporting his administration, while calling on the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) to fast-track the process for the conduct of the local government elections in the state.

  • Sidi Ali: The veteran journalist from a Northern media family

Sidi Ali: The veteran journalist from a Northern media family

    • By Gidado Yushau Shuaib

“Zamu Daura ma auren dole!” Hajiya Hakama Sidi Ali thundered over the phone after I answered her call. In Hausa, the translation is, “We will find and force a wife on you!”.

Hajiya Sidi Ali’s warm demeanour has been a constant source of guidance and inspiration since I received a surprise birthday gift from her in 2016. She is candid and sincere yet always maintains a cheerful and friendly disposition. These qualities were often discussed by my father, who was her course mate at Bayero University Kano in the early 1990s.

Rather than adopting the entitled attitudes of privileged children, Hakama and her siblings led by her senior brother Hamid Sidi Ali embraced simplicity, humility, and amiability—traits inherited from their father, Alhaji Sidi Mohammed Ali. Their family ethos also included a touch of radicalism against injustice.

Sidi Ali, a veteran journalist and politician, passed away on April 25, 2024, at the age of 86. As a member of the Sharifai clan, which traces its ancestry back to the renowned Islamic scholar Al-Maghili, Ali also hailed from a distinguished media family in Northern Nigeria. The family’s commitment to media excellence has left an indelible mark on the region’s history and culture.

Notable family members include Sidi Mohammed Ali, who worked at Hausa service of Voice of Ghana & headed Hausa service of Voice of Nigeria (VON); Alhaji Sidi Ali Sirajo, a Civil War Correspondent and ex-Managing Director of Triumph and New Nigerian Newspapers; and Ibrahim Sidi Ali, who contributed to broadcasting at Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN). He was Chief Press Secretary to the late Governor Sabo Bakin Zuwo of Kano.

Born in Kano on July 15, 1938, Alhaji Sidi Ali’s journey began amidst his father’s thriving cattle and agricultural produce businesses as a leader of the Nigerian community in Ghana. The educational odyssey of the then young boy took him from Shahuci Elementary School to Rumfa College, where he befriended future leaders Ado Bayero and Murtala Mohammed.

Sent to Ghana for higher education, Ali’s immersion in radical politics led to expulsion, catapulting him into a transformative phase. Under Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s sponsorship, his academic pursuits abroad, culminated into education at New York University, Merced College in California, and Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a diploma in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations.

A versatile journalist and renowned Pan Africanist, Sidi Ali served as an Assistant Information Officer at the first All African People’s Conference in Accra, capital of Ghana, in 1958 and actively involved in the pioneering work that saw the birth of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) in 1963.

Upon returning to Nigeria, Sidi Ali steered into the civil service and played a pivotal role in the government’s narrative during the Nigerian Civil War. He also worked at the Nigerian International Press Centre domiciled under the Ministry of Information, among other strategic positions.

In 1979, Mallam Ali joined the socialist People’s Redemption Party (PRP), led by the late Mallam Aminu Kano, and was elected to the House of Representatives, representing Dambatta Constituency. His re-election in 1983 saw him represent Gezawa Federal Constituency.

Sidi Ali’s literary prowess mirrored his principled stance in both journalism and politics. His actions as a member of the House of Representatives, including an incident involving a gun, demonstrated an unwavering commitment to justice and accountability.

Ali’s opponents often portrayed him as a controversial public figure due to his unwavering stance and outspoken nature during the Second Republic. A contemporary of Chief MKO Abiola and Senator Olushola Saraki in politics, as a member of the House of Representatives, Sidi Ali fearlessly challenged societal norms and advocated for justice and accountability.

His literary prowess is evident in his 19 published books and numerous articles, which often urged critical thought and compassionate action. Some of his notable works include “A Trip to Timbuktu” (1965), “Corruption in High Society,” and “The Power of Power on Muhammad Ribadu, Former Defence Minister” (1982)

Through his writings and speeches, Sidi Ali leaves a legacy of unwavering commitment to justice, accountability, and compassionate action. His controversial books included: “Political fraud of the Nigerian elites”, “Nigeria Relations with Israel”, “WAI as an Ideology for moral rectitude”, and “Tarka: A Victim of Political and Sectional Blackmail”, which faced a ban by the then military administration.

His extensive travels and experiences have shaped his affinity for journalism and communication, making him a true veteran of the media industry. It was not surprising that some of his children are mass communication graduates, while others are into legal, accountancy, and other professions.

Like his father’s legacy, Ali dedicated his life to dispute resolution and reconciliations of aggrieved parties. He also transformed his homes in Obalende, Lagos, and Kano into havens for counselling, relief, and accommodation for stranded and downtrodden Nigerians.

The family legacy, intricately woven into Nigeria’s societal fabric, continues through his children, who embody his values and contribute significantly to various professions and fields, enriching the Sidi Ali family’s imprint on Nigeria’s public discourse.

The passing of Sidi Ali resonates deeply, leaving an indelible mark not only within familial circles but also across the nation. His legacy — a tapestry woven with wisdom and compassion — serves as a beacon amid turbulent landscapes.

The deceased held other appointments: Commissioner, Nigerian Broadcast Commission (NBC), NDLEA Board Member, Presidential Panel Member on Fuel scarcity, Member2014 National Conference, among others. Beyond accolades, Ali’s legacy transcended professional realms. Throughout his life, he remained a steadfast servant to Nigeria.

Farewell to a titan of Nigerian journalism and politics, Sidi Mohammed Ali. Your legacy endures, casting a guiding light for generations to come. Rest in peace, knowing that your contributions to our nation shall forever be remembered.
