Vivacious queen of ‘Bling’ and Chief Executive Officer, Enthyst Event Limited and Enthyst Fashion Klinik, Ndidi Obioha and her son, Brian, were serenaded on Monday, February 15 by friends and loved ones who flooded the small but classy gig where her birthday was celebrated in Lagos.

She also used the occasion to open a new fashion store in Lagos and it was really fun for all her friends who honoured her.

Ndidi, as she’s fondly called by her friends and business associates, is an unapologetic sucker for all that glitters. The well-grounded businesswoman always likes to make her statement loud.

  • Helen Prest-Ajayi’s different kind of adieu

Helen Prest-Ajayi’s different kind of adieu

    By Olushola Rickets

Death is supposed to end it all, but this may be a different one. After months of litigation over the funeral right of late Dr. Tosin Ajayi that ended in favour of Helen Prest-Ajayi, the remains of the founder of First Foundation Hospital were interred last Thursday at the Ebony Vaults, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Spotted at the burial ceremony were also the deceased’s legal wife, Adenike Oluyemi Ajayi, and her five children. Their presence alongside Helen Prest caused some melodrama. But for clergymen who did their best to ensure the event was as solemn as possible, it would have degenerated into a bigger mess.

In soberness, Prest-Ajayi wished the father of her kids a different kind of farewell.

Her words read: “Saying our last goodbyes to my dearest kind, humble, wise, caring, loving, intellectually brilliant, generous, charming, fun loving husband. He was a doting father to our children, an icon in the medical field and a huge philanthropist.

“Adieu ‘Doc” dearest I ‘apolo’ for everything you have been put through, but God took control to help me give you a befitting and honorable burial. You are heaven’s gain and have gone forth to meet our deceased children Taiwo and Oluwatosin junior Idowu Ajayi – rest on in peace my love.”

If Prest-Ajayi’s word play, ‘apolo,’ in this farewell message actually meant ‘apologise’, she realises the dead didn’t deserve the final hour of awkwardness.

  • Where’s Charles Nwangwa?

    Where’s Charles Nwangwa?

    By Olushola Rickets

Time and chance truly happen to all. Who remembers Charles Nwangwa, the business typhoon with fingers in many pies and the former Omole Phase One Estate, Lagos, landlord of the Okoye brothers – Peter, Paul and Jude (PSquare)?

Although the Chief Executive Officer of Zedex Petroleum Nigeria Limited plays big in banking and real estate, he is mostly loved for his reputation of benevolence and it partly explains why his offices and houses were always swarmed by people from all walks of life.

Nwangwa’s popularity once ascended almost as high as the singing twin brothers. It was so good that it felt like bragging right everywhere he turned, as people were always quick to whisper “See the man that’s PSquare’s landlord.”

The relationship between Nwangwa and the PSquare brothers was first that of a tenant and landlord and after a short while, the entertainers had become superstars, the place couldn’t hold all their assets and they needed to expand their studio in particular. They moved to buy the property and Nwangwa was reportedly open to the idea but it didn’t materialize eventually.

He was in the news in 2019 when he was involved in a ghastly auto-crash at Mbutu Okohia Ngor Okpala, Imo State. It was a terrible scene as a trailer carrying goods crushed his vehicle. His absence from the social scene has been noticeable ever since.

  • Weeks after daughter’s wedding, Kebbi First Lady still ‘dancing’

Weeks after daughter’s wedding, Kebbi First Lady still ‘dancing’

    By Olushola Rickets

IT’S true that the joyous ceremony was held last month, but who wouldn’t still be happy? The First Lady of Kebbi State, Dr. Zainab Bagudu, handed her daughter Aisha Shinkafi Saidu’s hand out in marriage in January to former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, who divorced his ex-wife in 2017.

The event was a success but the memory is still so fresh for Mrs Bagudu. Ever since it was held, there’s hardly been a day when the stunning First Lady would not upload one of her daughter’s wedding photos on her WhatsApp status.

As one who spreads love and happiness, celebrating the big moment in the life of her daughter and her life as a mother comes naturally.

Mrs. Bagudu is a pediatric consultant, a loud voice in the fight against cancer and a child’s rights advocate. As the First Lady, she has become a role model in the state and beyond. Her advocacy for women, children and the youth in Kebbi and across Northern Nigeria touches health, education and skills acquisition.

    By Olushola Ricketts

Despite the affluence of Fuji maestro, Mayegun Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, his children have kept a low profile.

But his lawyer daughter, Dami Marshal, on Thursday, became a topic of discussion when she attacked Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho, who is bent on chasing Fulani herdsmen from Yorubaland.

Dami, in a series of posts, blasted Igboho for trying to instigate a civil war between the Fulani and Yoruba. According to her, anyone donating money to buy buses for the activist in order to set Nigeria on fire will never know peace.

Her post read: “As a student of history, I know the cost of the last Ife Modakeke crises where this Sunday Ighoho was said to be an active participant. All of those interviewing him and amplifying the war he is calling for should be subjects of interest to the DSS if the DSS still knows its duties.”

Some social media users didn’t agree with her submissions, insisting that since she was born with a silver spoon, she had never seen sorrow or the destructiveness of Fulani herdsmen.

The birthday celebration of former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode’s son, Aragon, didn’t go without raising an eyebrow.

It is no longer news that the Aragon’s mother, Precious Chikwendu, and Fani-Kayode have parted ways after irreconcilable differences. It was also learnt that the former beauty queen and actress doesn’t have regular access to her four kids, including triplets.

In celebration of her first son Aragon’s birthday, Chikwendu took to Instagram to shower praises on him. She said her son would be the one to wipe her tears.

She wrote: “Happy 5th birthday to the love of my life, the one that understands my blink without an utterance, my swift battle sword… You are that one that would wipe that tears I won’t shed now till it’s done. The one that is blessed beyond measures and loved highly, the leader of the tribe and a loving big brother to my boys. As the Lord’s countenance continues to shine on you, you shall fulfill your destiny, evil shall not see you, and your days will remain blessed as designed by the Almighty as he sets the trail for you. I love you silly mommy’s man and can’t wait for that outing we talked about.”

When Fani-Kayode took to Twitter to share a lovely video of his son’s birthday celebration, some fans said thrilling things about the celebrant while others were curious about the whereabouts of his mother.

It would be recalled that the lawyer recently unveiled his new lover, a Lebanese-Nigerian, Lilian Olajumoke Ellas, after months of gossip. This also ends the possibility of a reconciliation or ‘comeback’ story with Chikwendu.

MC Oluomo’s son endorses relationship with Ogbebor

    By Olushola Ricketts

The Lagos State chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo and interior designer, Ehizogie Ogbebor, are presently enjoying every moment spent together. It also seems Ogbebor has received the blessing of Oluomo’s family members.

During the week on Instagram, MC Oluomo’s son dropped a beautiful message and what looked like an endorsement of her father’s lover. Sharing Ogbebor’s photo with ring and laughter emojis, he asked: “Isn’t she beautiful? A woman like no other.”

This is not the first time MC Oluomo Jnr will be showing Ogbebor public affection. On January 16, when she shared photos of her and MC Oluomo, he commended by hailing her as “my daddy’s wife.”

This is still shocking to some social media users who see Ogbebor as rival to his mother and expect him to be sensitive.
