IT is popularly believed that beauty fades with age, as the body becomes weak and worn. But that doesn’t seem to be the case for Alhaja Silifat, famously known as Lady Peller, who just turned 73.

To mark her birthday, the elegant woman shared some photos on her Instagram page, which made it hard to believe she has crossed age 70.

A small party was held to celebrate the occasion in Ibadan, Oyo State, where she stays.

The wife of late popular musician, Professor Abiola Peller, wrote on Instagram: “I thank you all for the birthday messages, calls, gifts and prayers on Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and those that came to merry with me. You really made my day. I appreciate you all.”

The birthday ceremony was attended by Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi; Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Abdulganiyu Adekunle Salau; Oba Saheed Elegushi; former Ekiti state governor, Segun Oni and NairaBet founder, Akin Alabi.

    Obi Cubana remains unruffled

Cubana Group boss, Obi Iyiegbu aka ‘Obi Cubana’ is one man that is known on the social scene as one who loves to live a good life. He heads one of the biggest Night clubs and hospitality chains in Nigeria, with branches in Lagos, Abuja, Owerri, and other parts of the country.

Recently, controversy trailed Obi and one of his staff, Pascal Okechukwu aka Cubana Chief Priest, who doubles as a brand influencer for the club over a rift between the duo which led to them parting ways as business associates. The reason for their split was made private as Obi chose not to address the issue. Sources, however, said Obi and Pascal parted ways being reprimanded for battering a female. Obi had instructed Pascal to apologise to the lady to restore peace but Pascal allegedly refused. When some close mutual friends of the duo waded in to resolve the issue, Cubana Chief Priest ignored the truce call and went on social media to announce the berth of his nightclub in joint partnership with his wife in Owerri, Imo state. “After Obi saw his moves, like an elder brother, he wished Cubana Chief Priest well in the new direction. Funny enough, Obi will still do business with him to tell you how liberal and progressive-minded he is,” a source hinted. Despite this, Obi has remained unruffled and this was evident when he was spotted at the recently held Cubana luxury drive-by fest at Tafawa Balewa square.

Apart from working round the clock to create a fun-filled atmosphere for his customers, the dark-skinned husky-voiced serial entrepreneur never jokes with his family.

The cosmopolitan businessman changed the nightlife business in Lagos with his Cubana franchise. With his heaven-on-earth architectural masterpieces, Cubana nightclub and restaurant, littered across Nigeria, he secured his place in the league of hospitality and nightlife giants.

One of Femi Otedola’s daughters, Temiloluwa Elizabeth Otedola, is currently enjoying and living her childhood dreams. Birds chirped that Temi, during her formative years, had always wanted to have her root deep in fashion and arts.

When she was unveiled as the lead cast in Kunle Afolayan’s ‘Citation,’ many doubted her acting prowess and ability to bring to life the character of ‘Moremi Oluwa’. Some thought that the book lover should stick to her fashion and traveling blogging career instead of exploring a career in acting. To prove her detractors wrong, Temi gave her all to interpret the character. A source told Society Rendezvous that while the movie was being shot in various locations in Lagos, Osun, and Senegal, Temi put in extra effort even especially with expressions in the Yoruba Language. “The only issue we had was when it came to her Yoruba pronunciation and intonation, we had to do extra work by correcting her. She would make a successful acting career if she decides to fully delve into it. She was always ready to learn.”

After over a month of the shoot, Temi is enjoying her moments in the klieg lights. A few days ago, an excited Temi shared a teaser of the movie on her social media page with emotions oozing from her scribbling. She commended herself for putting up a wonderful performance in her debut movie as an actor as she thanked those who supported her in achieving such a great feat. Temi’s achievement joins a long list of her interests that include Just Temi Otedola JTO, a fashion Vlog and online platform, where she expresses adventures through fashion, art, travel, and photography with massive monthly visits and views.

A birthday celebration is often an opportunity to dress nicely and have a colourful party with special people in one’s life. Recently, there was a reason to celebrate Alhaji Ayinla Kollington as he became a year older, but nothing special happened on that day.

For people who know the Fuji star, it wasn’t a surprise when the singer didn’t celebrate his birthday in a big way. For years, he has never thrown a party to mark the day he came to this world. It is very hard to tell his real age as he always avoids the question.

Social Circuit learnt that for his birthday celebration this year too, a few people visited him at his Alagbado residence in Lagos, ate, drank and left. For an iconic personality like Kollington, one would have expected his house to be crowded with well-wishers and friends.

A close associate said: “Alhaji has never celebrated his birthday and he has never declared his age to anybody before. He doesn’t cherish the idea, but he likes to celebrate when a child is having a wedding. I think the only time he had a big party was when his mum died.”
