    Despite being misunderstood by many, he has remained steadfast in his business dealings and has embraced humanity as his bedrock for development.

    Last week Sunday, the IBD Impex boss celebrated his 54th birthday without pomp.

    Rather than throw an elaborate party in celebration of his big day, he opted to impact his people by reaching out to the needy and handing out food items to the downtrodden within his locality. He also donated food items to the needy in Ilaro where he celebrated his birthday.

    Youths from Ilaro, also in his name, organised a novelty match in order to celebrate him because of his love for the round leather game as an owner of a soccer club named Juvenile FC.

     The celebrant also reiterated that the recent controversy hovering around him is a ploy by his detractors to bring him down.

He has been a vocal, vibrant, audacious, fearless, and positive-thinking oriented lawmaker.

    While at the Senate, he sponsored and co-sponsored many bills of national interest, especially the landmark review of the 40-year-old Police Act, the establishment of the Police Academy, and the creation of the North East Development Commission legislation.

    Last weekend, he was honoured by the Emir of Bauchi as he was turbaned as the Dojikan Bauchi by His Royal Highness, Dr. Riliwan Adamu, the Emir of Bauchi. It was also gathered that the title was bestowed on him by the late Emir of Bauchi, Emir Suleiman Adamu, 17 years ago but he didn’t take the title officially now, he recently did.

This time around, he is going fuelless; embracing electric cars for his Enviable Transport business as he launched it in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja last week.

     The e-hailing car rental system is designed to make commuting easy and seamless in a modern innovative way.

     Obi, who launched the transport business last year in Port Harcourt, extended it to Abuja to create a better experience for commuters within the city by giving comfort and adhering to safety measures to minimise road crashes and ensure commuters safety, among others.

    According to sources, Obi is also working with investors on how to ensure the production of electric cars in Nigeria which will ensure availability and also meet the required global warming standard.

    At the launch of the transport company, Obi emphasised his desire to extend the business to other parts of the country and also make it affordable to move around.

    Recall that in November last year, anchor of morning show, Your View, Morayo Afolabi-Brown, was appointed the Managing Director of the TVC Entertainment channel. She had previously held the role of Deputy Director of Programmes in the organisation before her resignation.

    While many countries are not adhering to the Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement allowing a Nigerian carrier to enjoy free flying and frequency into their country, Onyema stood his ground wrestling against all bottlenecks to ensure Air Peace gets a landing permit to fly to other countries.

    Using his negotiating skills as a seasoned lawyer, he ensured that the Lagos-London route was made possible for Air Peace. During discussions, Air Peace insisted it would like to fly from, and land at, Heathrow Airport. The airline finally got the permit to land at Gatwick Airport after the intervention of the government and the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo.

    To the delight of many, Air Peace will launch the route on March 31, which will mark the beginning of a long voyage between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

    Sources say Air Peace has finalised plans to deploy its strength and workforce to ensure quality service delivery to beat other established players.

    As a Nigerian airline, the airline also promised to infuse more cultural cuisines and promote the Nigerian culture on board in a bid to sell Nigeria to the rest of the world. With one of the best and latest aircraft that can tastefully boast of the best facilities, the price crash also excites many Nigerians.

     In another wave, Onyema also announced a reduction in ticket fees. This will enable Air Peace to stay in touch with Nigeria and also not allow them to assimilate into European culture.

    The Kwara State Government has restated its commitment to the successful rebounding and repositioning of The Herald Newspapers and other State-owned media houses. Addressing the inaugural session of the Editorial Board of the newspapers, the Commissioner for Communications Mrs Bola Olukoju said the government looks forward to working closely with the Editorial Board and management for the success of the ongoing efforts to shore up the newspaper’s fortunes.

    Mr. Adedoyin was Transport Reporter at The Guardian Newspapers in the 80s where he rose to the post of Assistant Editor, Guardian on Sunday in 1992 till 1995. He also was Editor Third Eye Daily shortly after. He was Editor-in-Chief/Chief Executive, Herald Newspapers, 1996 and Kwara State Commissioner of Information in 2003.

     Regardless of being the daughter of Imo State Governor; Hope Uzodima, she has remained pleasant and stayed on a low profile not taking the razzmatazz that comes with her father’s office. She is a stickler for success as she does not want her achievement to be tied to her father’s impute. 

     Despite daddy’s deep pocket, she has continued to make her mark in the legal profession. She has also given young lawyers, who are not financially buoyant, the ability to attend law school through the Prada Uzodimma Law School Scholarship which constantly supports students to achieve their dreams of becoming a lawyer.

     Last year, she sponsored 15 students who are currently in law school. She has also promised to continue reaching out in her capacity to those who need help.

    Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai is fast becoming a shining light in the political firmament among the youth demographic in Nigeria.

     While many continue to discredit his political sagacity linking it to the fact that he is living under the shadow of his father, ex-Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Bello has continued to tell those who need to hear that he is here to make that change as he is different his father despite the obvious that they both share same political ideology.

     He stressed that he is here to be greater than his father. Instead of just embellishing his talks, he married it with action when he was voted to represent the Kaduna North Federal constituency at the lower National Assembly.

     The Chairman House Committee on Banking Regulations has remained on top of his game knowing what it takes to be a legislator. He has discharged his duties with much clarity and sincerity of purpose giving quality representation to his people.

     While he often faces backlash in the media space, Bello has remained solid and firm, thereby wading off all negative energy. When on the floor of the house, he speaks eloquently and very detailed which shows his passion for the development of his constituency and Nigeria at large.

     In a bid to cushion the effect of the biting economy, he has ensured conditional cash transfers to his constituents to add to their businesses and also ease the burden. He has also provided payment for JAMB, NECO and WAEC for students to ensure education for all is a must. He has remained a good ambassador for the youth and has continued to give hope that youths in politics are driven by passion to develop the country.

With her numerous degrees and current status as an Executive Director (Business Development) Nigeria Export-Import Bank NEXIM, she kick started her political sojourn with the All Progressives Congress, first elected Councilor in Ughelli-North Local Government Area of Delta State from 2008 – 2011. After performing excellently well, she was appointed as the Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) from 2011 – 2015. In 2020, she was appointed as the National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress’ Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) and recently, Hon. Stella Okotete was nominated into the 2023 Tinubu Shettima Presidential Transition/Inauguration Committee to head the Secretariat, Planning and Monitoring Committee.

     When her name was penned down as a minister-designate but was not cleared by the Department of State Security Service for onward screening by the senate, Okotete quickly moved on by remaining focused and refused to hold grudges against anyone or blame anyone.

     Rather, she has continued to learn and contribute her quota to the country’s development in her capacity as a top echelon at NEXIM bank.

     Despite naysayers’ hard moves to discredit her and also cast aspersions on her person, she has remained unperturbed by using her weight to enhance technological empowerment for women through training for businesses to engage in the Exportation of goods and services to earn forex.

     While getting commendations for her wins, she has remained a strong advocate for driving investment to Nigeria and developing youths through mental health development, digital transformation in women and women participation in politics for national development.

     The jolly good fellow who continued to prioritize the development of his constituency last weekend held the whole Ikeja Constituency spellbound with his magnanimous nature reaching out to them with lots of empowerment goodies. In a bid to cushion the effect of the economy, despite giving people money to invest in their businesses; he gave out cars to traditional monarchs within the constituency, Ambulance to hospitals, Pickup Vans to Police stations, Cars to deserving individuals for business purposes, Sewing machines, Hair dryers, generators, Tyre Pumping machines, Deep Freezer, Mini Bus, Delivery Bikes, TV Set, and a host of others. While giving the items out to deserving members of the constituency, Faleke noted that his greatest motivation and happiness is to put smiles on their faces and also reward them for their patience by investing in wealth creation.
