    Other side of Godsday Orubebe

    FOR many who did not know, Elder Godsday Orubebe, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, likes to be seen as a man with a deep love for God who has whole-heartedly contributed to his immediate community in drawing lost souls to the salvation of God.

    Orubebe established Glory Sanctuary Christian Centre in Ogbogbagbene with a sitting capacity of no fewer than 10,000 worshippers. The centre has created an opportunity for the people to come closer to God and directly spread the message of love and peace among them which has invariably made the once volatile Niger Delta environment a peaceful one to live in.

    Orubebe, if not preaching, enjoys playing golf and loves to relax with local kpokpo garri with fish and madiga with his childhood friends.

    The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs has always told whoever cares to listen that his going into politics is divine. His people from Ogbogbagbene community of Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State, who gathered in solidarity to sponsor his councillorship election.

    After his successful service as a councillor in Burutu Local Government Area, his success in politics has known no bounds as he has moved from one step to another. He served as Local Government Chairman and later Senior Special Adviser (SSA) to former governor of Delta State, James Ibori.

    Edith joined ONE as Manager of African Outreach, during which time she built an extensive network of African policy makers, NGOs, private sector companies, media outlets, academics and artists. Among several of her innovative programmes, Edith designed the popular ONE Africa Award which annually honours civil society groups exemplifying innovation in pursuit of the MDGs.

    THE Managing Director of Guinness Nigeria, Seni Adetu, is bereaved. The dynamic chief executive lost his mother, Chief Mrs. Felicia Olawunmi Adetu, to the cold hands of death on Wednesday at the age of 88.

    Adetu, a real home boy, is not known to do things in half measure. Many will not forget in a hurry the dedication of his country home in Sagamu in December 2012.

    Since he returned to the country in 2012 to take the mantle of leadership at the brewery company, Adetu has continued to exhibit sterling leadership qualities.

    The wedding which was carnival-like drew who-is-who in the country. The marriage was consummated at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, in Owerri, capital of Imo State, following the traditional wedding at the bride’s family home in Ogboko, 3 January. Nwosu, we gathered, had been having an affair with Uloma before he was appointed commissioner.

    Uloma Nwosu is the Director General of her father’s foundation, Rochas Okorocha Foundation.

    FOLORUNSHO Alakija, billionaire businesswoman, is plotting a high-octane shindig. One of her sons, Rotimi, will be tying the nuptial knot with his heartthrob, Kike Fajemirokun.

    Rotimi who is an executive director at Famfa Oil owned by his mum met Kike in school in UK and they have been dating. Kike attended the University of Lancaster while Rotimi studied at Bristol and got a master’s degree from the University of Surrey.

    Alakija is known not to do things in half measure. Recently, the billionaire oil tycoon acquired four brand new 2013 G-Wagons for her four sons. The luxury SUVs, we gathered, were specially made for the Alakija boys, each is said to have cost at least N22mllion.

    IT is no longer news that all is not well with the marriage of Dino Melaye and his estranged wife,Tokunbo. The gist in town now is that Alero Falope,a mother of one and a niece to senator Daisy Danjuma, is the new woman in the life of the Kogi State-born former lawmaker.

    Melaye and Alero, sources said, have been dating for the past four years and in the course of the week, the lovebirds had a quiet traditional wedding in Ibadan where Alero is based.

    Late last year,Tokunbo,the wife of the former Kogi State-born House of Reps member, Dino Melaye, had filed for divorce.

    The 10-year-old marriage which produced three children is collapsing based on issues that border on domestic violence and alleged infidelity.
