The church, which broke away from Holy Temple of Christ Church, was founded on December 6, 1962, by Senior Apostle Festus Fatoyinbo Oshoko; Pastor Oyebola Oluga, Prophet Emmanuel Olagbemiga Bella and Elder Joseph Abina Taiwo, among others.

At a briefing to announce the celebration, the church’s Pastor/Spiritual Head, Pastor Alfred Bamidele Taiwo, said the event was worth celebrating because “It is a milestone. It is worth it. Sixty years is no joke. God has been with the church. When we started, the Deputy Pastor, Prophet Olaseni Olatoye Oluga and Assistant Pastor, Most Evangelist Olajide Oladeinde Oluga and l were youths. God spared our lives and kept us to this stage. Now we are elders,” he said.

He said it was perseverance that had brought the church this far. He urged the youth to be patient and that success is not achieved in one day.

He advised the government to return to God to get solutions to the problems of the country. “Many politicians are humble. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom,” he added.

On the forthcoming general elections, he asked Nigerians to come out and vote en masse.

Prophet Oluga said the church does not play with its youths as it has special programmes for them. He however warned the youth against exuberance, saying it would rob them of God’s kingdom.

The church’s Assistant Pastor, Most Evangelist Oluga, said the celebration would take off with a memorial service for its departed leaders and members.

Other activities are: Divine Service which will feature Venerable Segun Oladesu as guest speaker, December 6; visitation to SOS Village and Old Peoples Home, Yaba, December 7; medical outreach December 9, musical concert the following day and these would be rounded up with a thanksgiving at the church headquarters in Somolu.

  • MFM to showcase 25 gospel artistes for global relevance

MFM to showcase 25 gospel artistes for global relevance

    By Adeola Ogunlade

In its quest toward promoting gospel artistes for global relevance and impact, the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries is set to launch 25 soul gospel singers from the church on the 4th of December at Eko Hotels and Suite.

The General Overseer of the Church, Pastor Daniel Olukoya announced this at a briefing held ahead of the maiden edition and launch of the Psalmists Concert which will showcase 25 members of the church whose albums will be officially released at the event.

He said that initiative was birthed as part of the repositioning agenda of the ministry in promoting destinies and his commitment in discouraging youths from engaging in destructive acts.

Olukoya spoke through Pastor Pius Oragwu, Administrator/ Chairman MFM Praise Worship Association, stating:

“The initiative of the Psalmists Concert is of positive impact on Nigerian society and other countries.

“When you consider hunger, poverty, insecurity and other things, you will find out that the Nigerian masses need encouragement and comfort, they need hope. But there is another source for hope and comfort than God’s words as far as our situation is concerned.”

Olukoya said that although MFM is known for prayer and deliverance, “this time around, we want to lift souls through our music.

“We are coming out for the body of Christ to know what we are blessed with in the ministry.”

Olukoya himself is a musician who has composed about hundred songs and said, “now God has brought out another psalmist tagged: ‘New song in my mouth.’ The song is an inspiring one, and as a result of that, we are launching 25 artistes.”

Pastor Olukoya said such a thing has never happened in our church before, saying the 25 artistes that would be unveiled to bless the body of Christ. “We want people to know we are not just for prayer and deliverance alone. We are using the music to take 25 people out of the street and reposition destiny in the church. The song will help a lot of people who are depressed and lift a lot of souls. We placed a premium on spirituality, whoever listens to the music will feel God’s presence and its impact all through.

“One of the basic reasons we are launching on December 4, at Eko Hotel and Suite is to make them compete with other artistes outside. We want to showcase the talents God has blessed the ministry with, God brought out the Psalmist from the praise and worship group of the church. It is not just about singing songs, it must be inspiring one.

“The music must sound spiritual and impactful also not to entertain but to minister to people, it was when the announcement was made that people started to come out across the country. What we are doing has never happened in the history of any church launching 25 artistes at the same time. We are launching them out to be a blessing to everyone and shouldn’t be us alone. We want the world to know we are not for deliverance alone and we are also good at music.

“The basic reason for the music is to take destiny out of the street and reposition the destinies for better and promote them for better.”

According to the Psalmist Coordinator, Pastor Paul Winners, the music from the artistes are soul lifting and impactful .

“We want people to come and see what God has done in the life of our ministry as we present talented artistes.”

  • S3xual purity guarantees a better and brighter future!!!

S3xual purity guarantees a better and brighter future!!!

    By Temilolu O. Okeowo

    Dear ma,

Today’s my 26th birthday. I really appreciate you for all your teachings on s3xual purity and how to remain chaste till marriage. Thank you for giving virgins like me the courage to not defile the bed till marriage. God has been helping me in so many ways.

Especially in my spiritual life and academics. Even though I am schooling in a federal university full of all sorts, I have been able to stand my ground that chastity is indeed to key to holiness and to good tidings. I really hope to see you in person some day ma. Thank you so much for yielding to Christ works. May God continue to give you all the resources you need to fulfil your purpose in life. Amen in Jesus name. I love you so much ma.

    Oluwatobi

    Dear Aunty Temilolu,

I just need your counsel ma. So many times I regret a lot of things I did in the past! I’ve cried over it times without number. I had sex with two guys and ended up having an abortion. I started following your page and reading your articles. I have started attending Baptism class and hope to get baptized soon. But I am always crying and wish I can return to my past and change it.…I feel wasted. I’ve come to realize s3x doesn’t keep a man. There’s nothing better than a chaste life! I’m so worried and wonder if I’d ever get married? Also, will I have a child? I’m always feeling guilty, ashamed and condemned because I feel God has not forgiven me. Your piece of advice will go a long way ma. Thanks so much ma for your impact in this generation.

    Please keep me anonymous.

My darling, precious, glorious, dignified, world-famous and heavenly celebrated Nigerian sisters.

Even God knows a lot of you are not prepared for the onslaught of a highly depraved world as this! Too many people have had their spiritual foundation soiled from childhood thereby giving the devil enormous power to confuse them and succeed in derailing their destiny.

Or what do you expect of an 18-year-old who has already slept with 15 men whose life has been bombarded with strange spirits from different men/destinies and in fact their multiple s3x partners! How I wish the church we believe in would slam the dire consequences of defiling the temple of God on your faces at every service! THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS MATTER! How could anyone even feel comfortable opening her thighs with no qualms and allowing anyone come in and go as they like. MAY GOD DELIVER THE WORLD BECAUSE IT’S GOING TO GET WORSE! I thank God for the anonymous lady who is quick to retrace her steps and pray God

redefines and rebrand her life. With her penitence, I believe God has long forgiven her and can only give her the best days of her life if she walks with him in spirit and in truth. And I’m believing you reading would have a change of heart as well and stop messing around with your destiny!

If Rahab the prostitute in the bible was later mentioned in the genealogy of our Lord Jesus Christ, there’s nothing God can’t do for anyone who decides to pitch his/her tent with Him. You can’t honour God’s temple and not have the world at your feet! Not only will you amass enormous power to conquer the devil and its whims, you will command the best things in life to yourself!

As it is written in Haggai 2:9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.

As you have chosen to stop defiling your body and honour God with your body as written in 1 Corinthians 6: 20, may all the good in the world be your portion! May your glory appear this year and may you end up with the best man ever in Jesus mighty name!

    FINAL WORD

Chastity does not belong to the past. It saves you a lot of trouble, preserves your beautiful destiny and stands you out from the crowd. You are better off not engaging in pre-marital and extra-marital s3x. Stay chaste!

Anita Okuribido: I am passionate about waste to wealth projects

Anita Nana Okuribido is CEO and Managing Director of SIMAN Engineering Ltd.  She is passionate about the renewable energy sector and has put in a number of initiatives to bring women into the sector, groom them as well as equip them with the necessary resources to make a difference. In this interview with Yetunde Oladeinde she talks about her experience, opportunities in the sector and recent appointment as President, African Views Nigerian chapter.

You are passionate about green energy and you are currently working on the Flora City Ecopolis Project. Tell us about this?

Flora City Ecopolis project is a project that is very dear to me. It’s the first time I am being involved in a smart city that is driven with Green Energy. Apart from Green Energy, every other thing about it is all about the environment, about mitigating climate change and it’s a project that I believe that Nigeria as a whole should even key into and every other Estate realtor should. Whatever Estate that they are developing now, should be on a basis of smart city with the Green development driving it. The way we have gone about it is the fact that most Estates, their apartment can be so expensive with sub standard materials. Flora city Ecopolis Smart development is such that we are using the best in terms of materials, personnel and best of everything.

    What are the advantages?

In addition, we are making the price to be affordable. I am also passionate about it because it is a waste to wealth project as well.

The reticulations will be turned into electricity; the human waste would be turned into biogas and so on and so forth. It is a project that we all need the leaders in it. We have done our researches and getting it right. By God’s grace we would be formidable smart city developers and we would be the first to be reckoned with in Nigeria.

Whenever I am having a board meeting at Flora city, I always mentioned that when I was young, we had Dolphin Estate, it was one of the first from the Israelis and they started it in Ikoyi. It was like novelty.

So, for me that is how this Flora City Project is, it’s a noel one with the combination of green development. Shelter is basic, it must be affordable. Let everyone be included. I remember in those days that the politicians made it a point of duty to put shelter in the delivery. To put shelter in place as a deliverable. We had Shagari Estate, Gowon Estate, Jakande Estate and so on. But now things have changed. You don’t have all those things anymore because it is not their priority. Shelter should be priority; affordable shelter that is of good quality should be the priority of any government. And if they do not want to do it, then we would do it. We are planning to be in the 774local governments of Nigeria because I am a community based person and I want every community to have shelter. Not just anything but real conducive shelter.

What should we expect from your leadership of Africa Views Nigeria?

It’s a big one, a very big one and to the glory of God. I would say that it is only God that has brought us thus far. I have been with the African views International for the past 6 years. It started when I was the National Coordinator of the Association of Nigerian Women Business Network (ANWBN). Then Dr Wale Ajibade, the Executive Director and founder of African Views International has always featured and I have been with them. But, I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would be given the opportunity to now be at the helm of affairs for African Views Nigerian chapter. We have African Views, Ghana Chapter.

And I remember when we were launching the Ghana Chapter two years ago; I was so excited because I am Ghanaian but born and bred in Nigeria. I was happy but on second thought, African Views has ECOSOC status and every 8th of March we are in New York for CSW and other meetings. In August, when I was in New York, I was representing African Views in the United Nations. During that meeting I was asked where I was from and I said Nigeria. I spoke a lot about women development in Nigeria, Renewable Energy and so many things and they were all so impressed. That was when it dawned on me that African Views must have a Nigerian chapter. So that when I go for the United Nations meetings, I would be a fully fledged African Views representative from Nigeria. That was how we started and it has not been easy, it’s a lot of work. They have their tenets, procedures and a lot of things that I needed to do a lot of due diligence. They also had to do a lot of due diligence on me and we had to fill a lot of forms, conditionality’s that I really need to go through. A lot of things which is ongoing and I thank God that we have registered African Views Network. Without the registration, they wouldn’t have accepted us and we are legally registered in Nigeria which took us some time. It’s a process but I thank God today, here we are.

African Views just hosted the 7th Spirit of Peace and Prosperity Summit.  What is this all about?

The conference is about promoting the idea of turning Global African presence into a Competitive Economic advancement with the help of Economic Institutions, Ministries of Finance, Logistics, Ecommerce, Stock Exchanges, Sovereign Logistics systems, Wealth management funds, Banking, Financial Systems, and Corporate Social Responsibility measures. Global presence does not automatically ensure a competitive advantage. The worldwide African presence has yet to produce the much culture-based wealth that provides the necessary financial capital and the cultural economy enjoyed by other cultures worldwide. Many different cultures have taken advantage of their perceived competitive edge and used it effectively to establish and sustain their markets everywhere possible. We have witnessed multinational corporations integrated into many countries across continents. Their presence in other countries will continue to change people’s thinking and consumption habits. Since learning is a way of life, all specialized products and services reflect particular cultural identities, and each global product contributes to the wealth of a specific culture or nation. This program enables as well as challenges the sovereign systems and corporations to present or explore the dynamics of the world economy through cultural lenses, not only national perspectives but global marketing capacities and this requires a new perspective on what we describe as the interdependent African opportunity.

Turning African global presence into a worldwide competitive advantage requires a culture to consciously match its value creation potential with the opportunities generated by its predisposed global relationship and proximity. Therefore, a new global African economic relationship driven by culture is eminent because globalization is relational. Diasporic, transnational identities, and social structures coupled with the increasing ease of cross-border capital and investment movement have given rise to international ethnic entrepreneurial behavior. The Stock exchanges make it possible to organize information, create efficient communication, production, distribution, risk assessment, and monetization effectively on a global basis.

The connection between Africa and the Diaspora can help promote good trade relationships and help reconnect and strengthen the ties between Africa and its Diaspora.

Oyedepo charges youths on time management, self-discipline

THE Chancellor of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun, Dr. David Oyedepo, has charged youths to invest their time wisely and imbibe the act of self-discipline in all spheres of their lives to achieve their set goals.

Oyedepo gave this charge over the weekend during the 21st matriculation ceremony of the institution for the undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes, Friday in Ota.

According to him, the days of the youths are the days of strength, urging the students not to toil with it.

Oyedepo advised the youths to make the best use of their time as youths.

He noted that access to the top was always at a cost of high-level discipline, among others.

The chancellor explained that the pain of discipline may be costly, but the result is priceless. “No one would ever be any more accomplished in his pursuit than when he is self-disciplined.

“What we find in our tomorrow are simply the fruit of the seed of hard work, discipline, and sacrifice made today.

“What one makes of his time today, would determine the outcome that awaits him tomorrow,” he said.

He cited Benjamin Franklin’s saying ‘dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that’s the stuff life is made of.’

Oyedepo implored the youth to recognize that time was an asset of inestimable value and a hidden treasure, saying the worth of a man’s time is what defines the worth of his life.

“The products of Covenant University are the most employable graduates in Nigeria,” he said.

  • Shun distraction, focus on the great commission, Kumuyi tells preachers

Shun distraction, focus on the great commission, Kumuyi tells preachers

THE General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, (DLBC), Pastor William Kumuyi has advised church leaders to declare the great commission and shun every form of vain vanities that can deaden our vision.

Kumuyi said this at the just concluded Global Worker Conference held in Taraba organized by DLBC.

Tagged, ‘Triumphing Ministry in Troubled Times,’ brought together church workers and church leaders from many parts of the country. Representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Women Wing of CAN, government officials, and royal fathers, among others. 150 countries were connected online across the world.

In his sermon titled: “A divine call to higher service,” Kumuyi said that “God is sending the whole church to the whole world, and if the church can arise and get up to do the work God has sent us without any form of distraction, we will get the work done in no time.”

He added that “the church needs the same vision, mission, passion, fire, consecration and penetrating skills that will penetrate the hearts of the people across the world.”

He pointed out that the great commission cannot be fulfilled without great consecration, passion, resources, quality of time, and skills. “If we have the same passion for heaven together as the body of Christ, then we will be reaching the nations in no time.

“As ministers of God, “our call into the ministry of reconciliation is a noble one and it is the best thing we could ever do with our lives.”

He posited that ministers of God must neither be satisfied with what they did in the past, nor with the errand ran for God in the past.

He enjoined them not to look around and think that the resources, grace, and miracle God had given in the past were good enough, saying it was not yet the time to relax.

He said: “we must arise as there is an urgent work to evangelise more for kingdom advancement. The instruction of God upon our lives is purposeful and the response of the people is immaterial, ours is to arise and do the work.

“It is sad that we see people perishing and we respect them so much that we fail to tell them that the soul that sinneth he shall die. We must not be too gentle in telling sinners that they should turn from their wicked ways because destruction awaits the obstinate and the unrepentant sinners if they die in their sin.”

He warned church leaders to focus on the messages of Jesus that saves and prepares men for heaven rather than telling them about our ideas and opinions that will not matter in eternity.

He cited the book of Ezekiel where God warned the prophet to warn sinners and if the prophet fails, he would require the blood of the sinners in their hands

Governor Darius Ishaiku thanked Pastor Kumuyi for the choice of Taraba for the conference.

He said “I want to thank you and your colleagues who are doing a great job. We pray God will give you a longer life and make us more acceptable to him and we will meet in the kingdom to path no more,” the governor said.

The governor confessed that when he assumed office in 2015 if he had known the magnitude of the job ahead of him in one year, he would have run like Jonah. “I asked God to come and help us and he did show up”.

Ishaiku, who said that he had passed through lots of challenges, noted that through it all, “God has been faithful, the work we had to do in eight years, was done in seven years, eight years is just a plus for our administration considering the landslide achievements recorded so far.

“In all the areas, I saw difficulties, but God wonderfully interceded. All the people of God need to pray and thank God, more importantly, I should hand over to someone who will build on the foundation that we have laid in the state.

“God in his wisdom will help us to hand over peacefully and build on the structure that we have established. I believe by the will of God, Taraba will soon become one of the greatest states in Nigeria.

“I always say that God is a Nigerian, but He resides in Taraba State,” he said.
