    Book Title: Midnight Cry

Fictional literature can have a significant social impact  where it is employed for social criticism. Paul Ugah’s debut collection, Midnight Cry,  a collection of twelve stories written in witty and humorous language, falls into this category of literature. As a social critic, Paul Ugah in this collection hopes to do more than entertain the reader. Although the stories are on diverse themes, one thing they all have in common is instructional value. The stories satirize those aspects of the society with which the author is disenchanted while also attempting to locate the reasons for these conditions in a flawed society.

The first story, “Conspiracy of Silence”, explores the theme of superstition among Nigerian politicians who are often found patronizing  seers and sorcerers. Edache, an aspirant for a senatorial seat, sets out to obtain fetish powers to enable him defeat his opponents easily. In a twist of events however, the herbalist conspires with the other aspirants to make Edache appear mad by asking him to walk naked with a concoction held in his hands from his house  to the village square a number of times, saying that he would be invisible because of the powder. Edache obeys the instructions and all his constituents conclude that he is mad, thus dashing his political ambitions forever. When Edache realizes this, he laments: “Oh! I have irretrievably compromised my political ambitions by obeying Eche’s instructions in my desperation for power” (Pg. 20).

The conspirators are not spared either as Eche, the herbalist, runs mad and Akamba, the chief conspirator, is killed by unknown gunmen. The moral in this story is clear: The story frowns at desperation for power and shows clearly that evil begets evil.

The second story in the collection further emphasizes the writer’s posture as a social critic. This story titled “Deception” shows that a marriage may prevail against many challenges and trials, but when deception is involved, it will crumble. In this story, Amedu and Lizzy are plagued with the many problems of an inter-tribal marriage: mainly the lack of total acceptance of Lizzy, who is from Plateau state, by the Idoma people of Apa from where Amedu hails, and  the couple’s inability to bear children after twenty years of marriage. Through all this, the couple sticks together until the veil of deception worn by Lizzy is suddenly pulled off. This happens when Amedu stumbles on a letter written to Lizzy which reveals that she has two children whom she bore out of wedlock in her secondary school days, and that an attempt to abort a third pregnancy led to permanent damage to her womb. The shock of this discovery is devastating. Amedu is distraught while Lizzy collapses from emotional turmoil.

The moral in this story too does not require elaboration. Ugah’s disenchantment with sexual promiscuity, and even more seriously, deception in relationships is loud and clear.

This takes us to the third story in the collection, “Web of Love”. This is a touching yet humorous story of a young girl who is faced with the dilemma of whom to marry among her suitors. There’s Edo, a civil servant, who sponsored her university education and whom her conscience tells her she should marry. Yet, he is not as rich as Emmanuel, the governorship aspirant who wants to take her as second wife since his first wife is not polished enough to be first lady. There’s also the temptation to marry Adamu, the wealthy contractor.  Continuous worrying over whom to marry leads Aladi to a temporary  loss of sanity. When she begins to recover, she requests that her suitors be invited to visit her at the psychiatric hospital. Emmanuel and Adamu give excuses and only Edo, the poor civil servant, finds time to visit Aladi promptly. Instantly, the web of love is resolved and her decision is made. Through this story, Ugah has shown that money does not always translate to love and care. Although the wealthy suitors have money to lavish on Aladi, at the mention of ill health, they all scamper away.

“Woeful Tales of Resurrection” is a parody of  the hypocrisy among some Christians whom by being active in church, engaging in ceaseless prayers and night vigils portray themselves as being ‘holier’ than others when in actual fact, they are hypocrites.  In this story, members of the “Millennium Chosen People of God Church”, a church well known for “powerful prayer and praises” in Apa, have received a message about rapture. So they organize a night vigil for the prayer band. During the prayer, two members exit; Brother Odeje who has diarrhea goes out to ease himself while Sister Charity Audu is called that she has a visitor at home. They both leave quietly so as not to disturb the prayer session. Not knowing the whereabouts of the two, the band members assume that they have been taken to heaven in rapture while the rest of them have been left behind. They thus begin to weep and confess their sins publicly. Among them are adulterers, bribe collectors and keepers of malice. The climax of the confessions is that of the pastor himself:

The Reverend who remained mute stared at them like an Egyptian mummy for some time, moved stealthily to the center of the church like a young hunter retreating backward from a tiger and said: “Church, save your Reverend. I have always cheated on my wife”. (pg.40)

The writer makes skilful use of suspense and dramatic irony in this story. It is after all the members of the prayer band have revealed their immoral acts done in secret that Brother Odeje and Sister Charity return to explain their disappearance. The author’s use of imagery in this story is also commendable as he uses words to create both visual and auditory imagery.

While “Freedom”, the fifth story, highlights the evils occasioned by bad leadership and highlights the need to vote wisely during elections, “The Secret of Adamu”, which is the sixth story, in a deft use of suspense and surprise, shows the sudden metamorphosis of a chronic miser and a very hardworking man to an extremely generous and lazy man. In the end, one finds that the sudden change is as a result of a prophecy that he would soon die, as a result of which Adamu decides to squander all his wealth so that his brother does not inherit it after his death. After all that, Adamu does not die but is rather faced by the abject poverty he has brought upon himself. In anger, he proceeds to the herbalist’s house and attempts to kill him.

“Midnight Cry”, the story that has the honour of making the title of the collection, deals with the highly topical issue of the invasions of villages by Fulani herdsmen with their herds, and the tragedies occasioned by this development which has caused the writer much pain. In this story, the people of Apa are just recovering from a scare that the Fulani herdsmen are coming to attack them again. In seeking a way forward, they are torn between going back to their traditional gods for protection, or relying on the Christian God introduced to them by the white man.

The narrative in “Midnight Cry” is enriched by the vivid description of a traditional ritual, the performance by the Ichicha women at their member’s funeral, which entails songs, dance and story telling. The following paragraph illustrates this:

Her soulful, plaintive and energetic voice belied her age as it wafted across the valleys, hills and riverlets of the clans of Apa like a first lone cockerel crow ushering the birth of a new day:

  • ‘How the church can fight corruption’

‘How the church can fight corruption’

General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church Abeokuta, Ogun State, Apostle Lawrence Achudume, speaks with Sunday Oguntola on how churches can support the ongoing anti-corruption and sundry issues. Excerpts:

The convention seminar is on the roles of the church in tackling corruption. But some people believe the church is corrupt itself. Do you agree with them?

Everybody has a right to his or her opinion. I may not be able to dispute that assertion but I believe the church is not corrupt. There may be some people in the church who have compromised their beliefs and what the church stands for.

It’s like saying all Nigerians are corrupt, which is not true; there are disciplined Nigerians who have zero tolerance for corruption. So, it is with the church. There may be few bad eggs but to conclude the church is corrupt is far from the truth and that is why we have chosen to beam our light, in this convention, on the church.

How can churches join the anti-corruption crusade in the nation?

One of such ways is why this convention was planned to see where probably there have been mistakes and provide a way out and to trigger a national discussion and reawakening that the church should be at the fore front in the fight to destroy the monster called corruption.

It’s becoming like a Goliath threatening to destroy Israel but thank God David came on time and the battle turned; the ugly situation was reversed. Our church believes the battle can be won by the body of Christ and other religious bodies because whoever is corrupt in Nigeria belongs to one of them.

If the leaders of these various groups will speak against corruption and reject money from corrupt people, somebody engaging in it will feel ashamed, feel like an outcast and if he has a conscience, will change. We are already through this convention saying we are part of the fight against corruption

What informed the choice of former President Olusegun Obasanjo as lead speaker?

The choice was deliberate. We all know he is a Nigerian who probably has seen it all. He was a military head of state and a two-term civilian president. Also considering the various positions he has been privileged to occupy, he has dealt with different individuals – home and abroad – and groups.

By this, he knows how this issue of corruption operates at various levels. Here is a man who established the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to fight corruption and he definitely had a purpose, which prompted him to start such a war.

If there is a way the church has encouraged corruption, he very likely will know. He has related with various church leaders at various times. By experience of leadership both in the military and civilian rule, he will know and this is an opportunity for the church to therefore repent of whatever mistakes, take note of ways she has encouraged corruption and join in the fight.

Obasanjo is a national father, a statesman not just in Nigeria or Africa but all over the world. He has nothing to fear or lose if he speaks the truth. As a man who is as bold as he is, who has fought and is still fighting for the peace, unity and prosperity of Nigeria, he knows the imminent dangers corruption pose on the prosperity and unity of the nation.

He, like other notable Nigerians, does not want their labours to be in vain. So he too wants this war to be won. It doesn’t matter who brought the victory but a David must come either from the house of Jesse or the house of Kish.

We also expect Governor Ibikunle Amosun who will chair the occasion and add from his wealth of experience as a one-time private business man, a Senator and governor.

We have invited pastors who we see as the arrow heads of various churches and some other religious leaders. Senators, members of House of Representatives, local government chairmen, politicians and would-be politicians will also be there.

What are your expectations for the annual convocation gathering?

Change, change in attitudes, change in the way we do business in Nigeria, change in the way we run our lives, change in our relationship with one another, change in the way we think of our neighbours, ourselves and the nation.

If we can change, the nation will change. That is why the central theme is “Doing wonders – the God factor”. The God factor brings genuine transformation while change beams light in dark places and exposes evils and perpetuators of evil and causes them to change for a better nation.

My expectation is to see real joy in people, let the sick be healed and learn how to live healthy to counter and expose receivers by teaching the truth of the gospel.

The convocation features five-star speakers. What are you really aiming at with them at the conference?

You call them five-star speakers and you probably are not wrong if there is anything like that but that should tell you we want to build a five-star church, five-star people and a five-star nation.

The speakers were carefully selected by the leadership of the church and we believe the people and the land will not remain the same. Pastors are coming from across the nation, from UK, USA, Uganda and Ghana.

Some have secured their visas for the conference and have started arriving while others are still processing their visas and they will carry same vision and spirit of change to their communities and the change therefore continues if you like, to spark the fire of change or to keep it burning from where the fathers have brought it to, to the next level.

What’s your assessment of the current administration?

I think things can be better in terms of the state of the nation and general wellbeing of the people. I don’t have the statistics or index or figures of growth of the economy but even if I have it, things can be better.

It appears we have not got the right people in government. We need the right Nigerians to run the affairs of the nation, people who understand leadership not those who want a position in government to prove a point.

We need mature people in government, not in terms of age. We need administrators in government, not empty political campaigners. Nigerians pray, so our problem is not God but bad managers of God’s blessings.

     Any prophetic declaration for Nigeria?

Nigeria is a great nation and good will come to Nigeria. Those prophecies of doom and pains are not of God. The devil speaks and speaks like God and many people hear the devil and say it is God.

Nigeria is blessed and will fulfil her nationhood in prosperity and peace; the nation will cross the bridge where she is now to her Promised Land.

    RCCG empowers over 200 women

No fewer than 200 women in Lagos have received empowerment items as part of measures to alleviate poverty by The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Province 8.

The presentation of the items was highlight of the 2017 Sisters conference of the province with the theme The King’s business.

The three-day conference ended penultimate Saturday in Lagos.

Wife of Lagos State Governor, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode, presented the items, which include deep freezers, grinding machines, mixers, sewing machines, shoe and hat making materials.

Wife of the Pastor in charge of the province, Mrs. Foluke Adeyokunnu, said the empowerment scheme was driven by the vision to ensure women don’t end up as beggars.

“We believe it will enable our women fend for themselves and develop capacities to be of blessing to the church, community and their immediate families.”

Pastor (Mrs) Wonuola Adetayo, in her presentation, said women must learn to fend for themselves instead of being dependants.

Empowered women, according to her, will be able to deliver the King’s business better with urgency.

The King’s business, she said, include teaching and preaching, counselling, being models of Christian character, financial support for God’s works and mission backup.

She said churches must empower women spiritually, financially, mentally, professionally and politically to become the best and profit the nation.

The Acting Lagos Head of Service, Mrs. Folashade Adesoye, said women must become more involved in political process to proper representation and dividends.

On why women must be empowered, she said: “There is no gain saying any more that the development of women is sine qua non for development of a nation.”

  • Catholic Church dedicates 10,000-seater auditorium

The 10,000-seater ultra-modern auditorium of St. Michael Catholic Church Alapere has been dedicated.

The colourful ceremony witnessed members adorning different ceremonial dresses with the Boys scout band at hand to render danceable songs.

The auditorium is an architectural masterpiece with ecclesiastical and liturgical finesse.

Cutting the tape to declare it open, Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Lagos, Most Reverend Alfred Martins, admonished members not to treat anything of God with levity.

He advised them to respect and honour the church in all their actions.

Episcopal Vicar of the Archdiocese of Lagos, Very Rev Monsignor K. Asuquo Aniagwu, and the Dean of Maryland deanery, Very Reverend Father Anthony Fadairo, supported the Archbishop with a lot of priests from within and outside Lagos.

The Parish Priest, Reverend Father Sebastian Ngene, was full of appreciation to all who worked tirelessly to see the vision manifest.

  • Accessing next levels through spiritual stewardship!

Spiritual stewardship, which entails serving God and the interest of His Kingdom, is key to all that life will ever demand. This is because serving God does not only pay, but it pays the best, pays supernaturally and offers incomparable returns. Remember, the Bible says: If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures (Job 36:11; see also Matthew 6:33; Exodus 23:25-26).

It is also important to know that serving God is a covenant. For instance, Abraham, a servant of God, served God faithfully. As a result, generations after him benefited from his service. Remember, God swore to him that in his (Abraham’s) seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed (Genesis 12:1-3).

Furthermore, we understand from scriptures that serving God also means the fear of God, which guarantees our access to generational blessings. As it is written: …Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever (Psalms 112:1-3).

“Feareth the Lord” in the above scripture connotes serving God. When God spoke to the devil about Job, He said: …Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? (Job 1:8). The Bible records that: Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? (Job 1:9).

Therefore, Psalms 112:1-3 can read thus: Blessed is the man that “serves” the Lord and delight greatly in God’s commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: his generation shall be blessed. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness shall endureth forever. That is how serving God positions us into realms of abundance forever.

    But, what is Spiritual Stewardship?

Spiritual Stewardship simply means engaging in spiritual investments towards the advancement and enlargement of the Kingdom of God (Job 36:11).

What are the Avenues for Spiritual Stewardship?

    • Prayers: This involves praying for the salvation of souls and their establishment. We also pray for the Word of God to have a free course in every service and for signs and wonders to be experienced. Furthermore, we pray for the needs of co-believers to be met (Galatians 6:2).
    • Reaching out to the lost: From scriptures, we understand that every believer is an ambassador of Christ and as such, he/she is ordained to reconcile lost souls back to God (2 Corinthians 5:20). Therefore, we must go forth, bearing the reproach for Christ, as we reach out to lost souls in love and with passion. To be ashamed of Christ is to have Him turn His back on us (Hebrew 13:13; Mark 8:38; Romans 1:16).

We must understand that the returns that accrue to us via spiritual stewardship are incomparable and are supernaturally paid. This is what makes spiritual stewardship the most profitable venture in the world.

What, then, are the returns accrued to us in Spiritual Stewardship?

    • Divine Favour: Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come. For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof. So the heathen shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth thy glory. When the Lord shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory (Psalms 102:13-16; see also Hebrews 12:22-24).

“Zion” here means the church of the Living God. This helps us to understand that when we become committed to the building, growth and expansion of God’s church, we are entitled to divine favour in return (Hebrews 6:10; Psalms 30:5).

    • Divine Honour: In the multitude of people is the king’s honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince (Proverbs 14:28; see also 1 Samuel 2:30).
    • Abundant Life: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33; see also Job 36:11).
    • Longevity: There is no service in the world that guarantees long life, except Kingdom stewardship. The Bible says: …Ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. …The number of thy days I (God) will fulfil (Exodus 23:25-26; see also Psalms 91:16).

Therefore, let’s engage wholeheartedly, and watch God decorate our lives for the world to see. Remain ever blessed! Are you born again? This means, have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord? If you haven’t, you can do so as you say this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the Living God. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now I know I am born again!”

  • Cleric recalls losing five children, three wives at 60

Cleric recalls losing five children, three wives at 60

Lagos cleric, Prophet Lai Bamidele, has recalled his travails in the service of God, saying it was only perseverance that had kept him in the vineyard.

Specifically, he said he lost three wives in succession and five children with all his life savings in Kano lost to ethno-religious crisis.

Bamidele, General Overseer of Glorious Christ End-time Envangelical Church, a church with headquarters in Lagos, spoke on the occasion of his 60th birthday penultimate weekend.

“It was as if I would never get out of those disasters when they kept happening, and like the Biblical Job.

“I lost three wives in quick succession during which five children also passed on. I was virtually stretched to my wits’ end but I kept on in the faith.

“But I have been undeterred because I know the devil, having caused those losses, had forgotten that the Lord is faithful. And by the grace of God, I have been enjoying divine blessings and increase.

“To the glory of God, I have five other glorious children, who are doing well along with my beautiful wife,” a visibly moved Bamidele said.

He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently raise a think-tank of credible economic experts to lead the country out of socio-economic crisis.

According to him, rising cases of suicide were clear indications that all is not well with the Nigerian economy.

“That people are now committing suicide owing to hunger, joblessness and social neglect is an indictment on whatever economic policy that might have been put in place and it is now time for the Buhari administration to re-strategise by forming a committee of credible economic experts, who will help lead the country out of these doldrums,” he counselled.

  • Join partisan politics, Christians told

    Join partisan politics, Christians told

Christians have been encouraged to get involved in grassroots politics for good governance in the nation.

This was the consensus at a one-day seminar by the Ambassadors, an arm of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) devoted to raising Christian politicians.

Chairman of the group, Comrade Michael Aderele, lamented Christians have ignorantly tagged those involved in partisan politics with one unpleasant name or the others for years.

Noting many Christians dismiss politics as a dirty game, he, however, pointed out “whenever these dirt are swept, they are often parked at Christians doorsteps.

“Whether we admit it or not, numerous Christians across the globe are victims of some of the ungodly or satanic policies.”

The guest speaker, Tonye Cole, urged Christians to become card-carrying members of political parties for influence.

“As a card-carrying member, your role goes beyond exercising a voting right on Election Day but you are expected to influence decisions at grassroots,” Cole said.

The guest speaker encouraged Christians to come together as one body in ensuring they speak with one voice to win election. “We have to come together as one body of Christ to have impact and a voice in governance.”

Chairman of Ofada-Mokoloki local government development council, Hon. Kudirat Balogun, said while she was about to run for the council position, she didn’t have money for registration.

“I came to the church to pray and Daddy Adeboye said someone will get to a position in the council in this gathering and I immediately claim it that I was the one Daddy GO was talking to.

“A week to the closing of the date, I had only N50,000 and I was to pay N250,000. Surprisingly, some friends gave me the money and here I am the chairperson of the council,” Balogun testified.

  • Court declares Abiola Supreme Head C&S unification

The Lagos State High Court in Ikeja has declared Most Elder Apostle Adebayo Abiola as the Supreme Head of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church.

Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo held that he (the second applicant) was validly selected and presented by the Registered Trustees of the Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Church of Nigeria (first applicant) in accordance with the church’s constitution.

The judge granted an order of perpetual injunction restraining Elder Apostle Solomon Alao from occupying the office of the church’s Supreme Head or performing the duties and functions of the head.

“An order of perpetual injunction is hereby made restraining the fourth defendant (Alao) from releasing or parting with the staff of office of the Supreme Head of Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church to the first to third defendants, their agents or servants except the duly elected nominee of the first claimant,” the judge held.

The defendants are the Registered Trustees of the Sacred Cherumbim Unification Church of Nigeria, Special Apostle Akin Owolabi (Secretary-General of Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria), Alao and Eder Apostle David Salako.

The claimants sued in 2015 to challenge Alao’s nomination and leadership.

Justice Lawal-Akapo held that the it was the Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Church of Nigeria that was registered under the Companies and Allied Matters Act, adding that the word “Overseas” never appeared in the church’s constitution or other documents.

“I find as a fact and I hold that the Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Church of Nigeria is indeed a registered corporate organisation as clearly reflected in the certificate of incorporation,” the judge said.

  • The Strong Belt of Truth (6)

The Nigerian national anthem “Arise, O Compatriots” was adopted in 1978, replacing the previous one “Nigeria, We Hail Thee.” John A. Ilechukwu, Eme Etim Akpan, B. A. Ogunnaike, Sota Omoigui and P.O. Aderibigbe wrote the lyrics. Their submission was the best in a national contest.

God Himself, who created all things and gave us this great nation Nigeria, inspired the writing of our national anthem especially the second stanza.

    Arise, O compatriots

    Nigeria’s call obey

    To serve our fatherland

With love and strength and faith

The labour of our heroes past

    Shall never be in vain

To serve with heart and might

One nation bound in freedom, peace, and unity.

    Oh God of creation

    Direct our noble cause

    And guide our leaders right

Help our youth the Truth to know

In love and honesty to grow

    And living just and true

    Great lofty heights attain

To build a nation where peace

    And justice shall reign.

The stanza “Oh God of creation…” honours God who brought us together to be one nation; it calls on Him to shepherd, direct, and help us. For without God we can do nothing.

A very important message and prayer in the anthem is directed to our youth- the future of Nigeria. This prayer calls for the Nigerian youth to know the Truth, in order to grow in love, honesty, righteousness, truthfulness, achieving great lofty heights and being used to build a Nigeria where there will be peace and justice.

In order to attain all the good virtues mentioned in the anthem- love, honesty, righteousness, truthfulness, peace, justice and greatness, the Nigerian youth need TO KNOW THE TRUTH.

The Truth as we now know from previous editions is a person and that person is JESUS. Jesus is in our national anthem. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father (God) except through Him. If you know the Truth, He will set you free from the bondage of sin and as you abide in Him, He will make you remain free, ‘Therefore if the Son (Jesus) makes you free, you shall be free indeed’

The Nigerian youth needs to know, believe, and abide in the Truth, to be set free and made completely free from sin. Sin draws us back as a nation. Where there abounds dishonesty, corruption, unrighteousness, hatred, fighting, killing, terrorism, injustice, sexual immorality etc., we will not prosper.

Knowledge of the law of a land with the corresponding punishment for breaching the law cannot stop people from disobeying it and cannot save people from sin. Man was born with the nature of sin, we were all born in sin, and that nature has to die before man can be free from sin. This freedom is what Jesus accomplished for us; God presented Him as a sacrifice to die for us, thereby crucifying our nature of sin. Through His death, the power of our sinful nature was shattered, and we were set free from the nature and bondage of sin- this is to them that believe. Your own sinful nature will die as you accept and believe in the price Jesus paid to save you by His death on the cross, and as you follow Jesus, you will live the life of righteousness. No power, no law can save someone from sin, Only Jesus can save from sin. Have you ever wondered why an armed robber after release from a long stay in the prison, still goes back to crime almost immediately? That nature of sin has to die, for one to be set free from the bondage of sin.

It is only when a youth knows the Truth (Jesus) as rightly captured by the anthem, will he be set free from his sinful nature, and then be given a new life and a new spirit- the Holy Spirit of God. His heart is changed from a stony, stubborn heart to a heart capable of love- loving God with all his heart, soul and strength and loving his neighbour as himself- incapable of causing anyone harm in any way; he will love his enemies and pray good prayers for them. Only through Jesus is this possible

Every citizen of Nigeria needs to know the Truth to have this new life. A life of love, peace, honesty, righteousness, truthfulness, and impartiality.

Oh, Father let the Nigerian youth and all Nigerians know Jesus the Truth that we may grow in love and honesty, living just and true, great lofty heights attain, to be used to build a nation where peace and justice will reign, In Jesus name- Amen!.
