FEDERAL Commissioner of National Population Commission (NPC) Chiso Dattijo, has said the recruitment of adequate manpower is necessary for a successful 2023 census.
Chiso spoke yesterday in Sokoto at the launch of the 2023 population and housing census e-recruitment portal to end next month.
The commissioner told reporters the census required adequate manpower to achieve accurate and reliable outcome.
“ We need to recruit manpower that will carry out the task”, he stressed.
The former deputy governor of Sokoto said “the need to be fair and transparent in the recruitment process led the commission to introduce online e-recruitment portal and train officers that will superintend over the recruitment process.”
He assured that the process would be fair, efficient and transparent, noting that in addition the commission would constitute a Local Government Area Recruitment Team (LRRT).
“The local government recruitment team will ensure that applicants in hard-to-reach areas have the opportunity to apply to serve as census functionaries and are appropriately accommodated on the recruitment portal”, he said.
Chiso further pointed out that amaong those to be recruited include: Facilitators,Training Centres Administrators ,Monitoring and Evaluations officers .
Others are: Data quality managers ,data quality assistants ,supervisors and enumerators respectively .
