With the NPFL title in focus, Ali Chiwendu has revealed government support and hard work as the key reason for their blistering form.
The Port Harcourt based outfit are tied on points with leaders Wikki Tourists but with inferior goal difference and the defender feels “First, we must give thanks to God for the grace on Rivers United. Also, the players have been united and are working very hard. As regards motivation, the government has been great. They make sure that we get everything we need to be successful as and when due,” Chiwendu told Goal.
“We are aiming high but we have made sure that we do the talking on the pitch,” he said.
“We have to keep working hard to achieve our aim, which is to lift the NPFL trophy but we’ve got to stay focused till the end because it’s not yet over until the final day. We shall do all that we can to be in the continent next season.”
