Chocolate City’s newest signee, Major AJ aka Retrobaby has released a new EP entitled Retroverse.
Retroverse, according to the singer, is a collection of rare African funk and disco-inspired moments in 5-tracks.
Born Ajogwu Boluwatife Vincent, Major Aj is a Nigerian songwriter, rapper, and singer whose sound is embedded in Afro Fusion. He hails from Okpokwu Local government in Benue State but has spent his early years in Kainji town, Niger state.
When he graduated from school, he recorded and released his first single, ‘One Take’ in March 2019. The reception opened up more recording opportunities and he followed that up with ‘Booty Bounce’ on October 25, 2019, and also ‘Maami’ on December 7, 2019. In 2021, he released a single called ‘Salo’ that caught the attention of Chocolate City’s A&R.
