The Primate of Jerusalem Church of the Lord International, (Ile-Ewe), Mrs Eunice Olufunke Babayemi, has urged Christians to concentrate on the words of God while in church.
The cleric said God can only speak to worshippers when they listen to Him.
Mrs Babayemi spoke at the church’s 32nd annual international convention at Ikere Road in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, with the theme: My God Never Fails 2018.
She queried the essence of a worshipper going to church without paying attention to the voice of God, which she said can come in diverse ways during sermons or other activities in the church.
The cleric urged Christians to stop receiving calls, chatting, pinging, taking pictures and doing other things that have nothing to do with church activites.
According to her, Abraham listened to God and his life never remained the same again; Moses heard the voice of God and liberated his generations yet unborn; Isaac, Jacob, Gideon, David and notable prophets in the Bible listened to God and they never remained the same.
Primate Babayemi urged couples to cleave if their dream of having children is to be achieved.
“Through the work of the Lord my homes have been blessed with children,” she said.
The cleric thanked God for making her witness the celebration of 32 years of establishing the church.
Highlight of the occasion was the ordination of Bishops Joseph Ayeni Abiodun and Dapo Oloye.
This year’s convention lasted seven days with halleluiah songs.
