All Progressives Congress (APC) Southwest Coalition Group has declared its support for Senator Sanni Musa to become president of the 10th Senate.
At a news conference, group Coordinator, Ade Ifeshile, said Musa’s qualities and leadership skills will set him apart and galvanise support for his candidacy.
Ifeshile described Musa as a high ranking senator in terms of bills passed in the House, with five sponsored bills, showing him to be a consistent progressive.
He said: “We are behind the candidacy of Senator Sani Musa as Senate president of the 10th National Assembly because of the loyalty, competence and capacity he built overtime within the party.
“Senator Musa is a frontline APC stalwart who has paid his dues in party politics, and we believe in his capacity and capabilities to add value to the 10th Assembly. He has exhibited his loyalty to APC when he stepped down for National Chairman, Adamu Abdullahi, last year, in compliance with party directives, and sacrificed a lot being a faithful member.”
Deputy Coordinator, Martin Olanigan, maintained when it comes to competency, loyalty and accountability, Musa takes the lead.
“We want the Senate to be unique so it will renew the people’s hope in our nation. The President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s slogan is he wants to renew the people’s hope. And to do this, he needs competent and capable hands in the Senate and House of Representatives, that is why we are supporting Musa because he has the competency and experience to get the job done.”
