The Coalition of Progressive Minds for BAT (PMBAT) yesterday declared its readiness to work as a formidable group for the actualisation of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as president.
Its Director General, Chief Yemi Oladokun, said this at a news briefing in Ogba, Lagos.
The retired banker-cum-politician said Tinubu’s performance was evident in his achievements when he was Lagos State governor.
He listed human capital development, security, traffic, education and transportation, among other achievements, as reasons for the group’s resolve to boost votes via mobilisation for PVC, awareness campaigns, symposiums, rallies and others.
Oladokun said the organisation would use the strength of its population in 25 states and more to increase votes for Tinubu.
He said: “We are not just a group; it is a fusion of about 15 that subsume into our coalition. The purpose of having a coalition is that we can’t do it individually; a mushroom can’t be effective as when we have a central group that can move, that will know the purpose of what we want to do for our principal and what we want to do to ensure that he becomes elected president of Nigeria in 2023.
“You may ask why we believe in Tinubu, why we think he is the man that can do the job.
“Before someone said he can do something, let us look back at what they have done before. Has he performed before? Who is he? What is his personality? What is his experience? When you say someone is tested, Tinubu is a tested individual.
“Our intention is to galvanise votes from cities to support the ambition of our principal. Each group that we have been working with and having meetings here and there to canvass for votes, they are very close to the grassroots and this is why we believe that coming together will give us the mileage that will help towards the success of our principal. We decided to do this because he deserves it.”
