Provost of College of Medicine at University of Lagos (CMUL), Prof. Wale Oke, has called on the alumni association to assist the institution to rescue it from infrastructure decay.
Oke spoke when the association (1977-1982 set) visited the institution.
He said their intervention was needed to salvage the school from de-accreditation due to infrastructural decay.
The 1977-1982 set, as part of its 40th-year reunion, visited the college to felicitate with the management on its 60th anniversary.
Oke noted that the interventions of some key organisations had helped in closing, to some extent, the infrastructure gap.
The provost (1974-1979 set), said an alumni set donated a solar system for the library, but added there were over 1,000 infrastructure needs demanding attention.
“We need you desperately. I could take my time today and take you round to see the decay…
“Three years ago, we were de-accredited from dental training because we didn’t have enough chairs. I’m happy we’ve had some donations. We need action because our needs are multiple.”
Secretary of 77-82 set, Bolaji Oludara, said they would address these needs.
