The communal crisis in Doko Community in Lavun Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State has led to the death of one Mohammed Yanda and the destruction of properties worth millions of naira.
The Nation had reported that three people were killed and over 30 others injured in a communal clash between Boku and Doko communities in Lavun.
Several houses and vehicles were destroyed and many cows, goats and sheep were stolen in Boku community.
The clash followed a lingering land dispute between both communities and it led to the arrest of 20 youths.
The violence occurred despite a court order compelling both villages to maintain peace.
The Nation learnt that some of the boys arrested were released on Wednesday, but the youths and their supporters began to attack those they felt were instrumental in their arrest.

They attacked Yanda’s family home, destroying a vehicle and other properties in the house, but in the process, one of the attackers was injured and rushed to the hospital.
The Nation learnt that the youths regrouped and attacked his house again in retaliation, with machetes, leading to his death.
When contacted, the Vice President of the Doko Progressive Forum, Comrade Samuel Isah confirmed the incident saying that there had been growing tension in the community for some weeks which led the Village Head to write a letter to the Police Area Commander and DPO asking them to act fast in addressing the issue.
He said the tension and hostilities had been in the community since the issue of the appointment of a village head for the community which metamorphosed into a land tussle.
