Leaders at Tori-Lovi community in Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Badagry, Lagos State, yesterday decried lack of basic amenities.
They said the area lacked good roads, primary health centre, electricity and market.
The Baale of Tori-Lovi community, Chief Gabriel Gbetoho, said roads in the community were in a deplorable state.
“Our roads have been neglected over the years. We are farmers and fishermen. Due to bad roads, we find it hard to get our farm produce to the markets in Badagry and Alaba.
“We appeal to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Chairman of Olorunda LCDA, Mr. Samson Olatunde, to rescue us,” he added.
Mr. Sewanu Pinponsu, a community leader and former councillor, said there was no primary health centre in the area.
Mr. Jogbenu Olorunnisola, a farmer and community leader, said poor electricity supply and lack of good market were other problems confronting the community.
Mr. David Padonu, the youth leader, said there was no school in the community.
“There are no primary and secondary schools at Tori-Lovi community. Youths and children have to go as far as Badagry and Mowo to study,” he said.
