The Chairperson of the Hadizatu Uwani Mustapha (HUM), national support group, Mrs Hadizatu Mustapha, has said competent and courageous leadership is required for the growth and development of the nation.

She said the All Progressives Congress (APC) had taken the right step in the choice of its presidential candidate in the person of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu along with his running mate, Sen. Kashim Shettima.
She said the APC would attract massive votes based on the wide acceptance of the Presidential candidate and his running mate across the length and breadth of the country.
“HUM National Support Group, has initiated this move to unveil this edifice to house our operations that will help us to translate our energies and expertise to deliver our candidates across board come general elections 2023,” she said.
She said the group had no doubt that Shettima would deploy his energies, competences and critical thinking to complement that of his principal in furtherance of the vision set to change the tide of Nigeria.
This according to her is encapsulated under the agenda titled “Hope Renewed”.
She called on members of the party to play their supporting roles.
“Our faith is tied to hard work and not luck. We should therefore set out to do our best in the interest of posterity so that the next generation after us shall be proud of us,” she said.
The Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Kashim Shettima, says people must be alive to vote in the 2023 general elections.
Shetima made the remark at the unveiling of the support group.
His comments followed a question posed to him by newsmen about what would the party do to those who lost their voters card to the flood.
According to him, even beyond the issue of voters card, people have to be alive for them to cast their vote.
He said, “It is very disheartning and unfortunate that we lost lives and property in the flood disaster.
“We sympathise with the victim, we were in Damaturu in Yobe state yesterday to commiserate with the victims of flood disaster,” he said.
He, however said that he was just a member of the party, and that the party should be allowed to play its role appropriately in that regard.
Commending HUM, Shettima said, “words cannot adequately convey our depth of gratitude for all the sacrifices you have made in mobilising men and resources for the party.”
This according to him, is to ensure that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and himself were sworn in as President and Vice President of the country in 2023.
According to him, all hands must be on deck to ensure victory. I want to thank HUM sincerely from the bottom of my heart for her commitment, passion and empathy for our course .
