A female student of the Federal Government College (FGC) Warri, Delta State has allegedly died after being bullied by her classmates.
The student, whose name could not be ascertained, was said to have died last Wednesday.
She was a boarding student of Senior Secondary School (SSS) 1.
The Nation visited the school on Monday to unravel what actually happened but met a brick wall.
After about 45 minutes of waiting for the principal and filling out an official visitation form, he (the principal) refused to give audience on his return.
“He said that he is very busy and cannot attend to anyone,” his receptionist said, about two minutes after he went in with the filled visitation form.
Our correspondent explained the purpose of the visit in the form and was surprised when the receptionist came out crumpling it.

However, a source at the school, dismissed reports of her being bullied, stating that she was sick.
According to the source, the student had been sick and was taken home by her parents about a week before she died.
“There is nothing like she was bullied. She was sick, they said her eyes were yellow. She went to the dispensary. When the health workers saw the way she looked, they called her parents to come get her.
“We heard they took her to General Hospital, Ekpan. I’m not sure if that was she was diagnosed of Hepatitis B but it was the hospital that referred her to a private hospital (name withheld) along Airport Road. They took her for dialysis treatment but she didn’t come out alive,” the source said.
A further visit to the said private hospital confirmed that she died there.
The manager of the hospital revealed that the deceased student was taken to three different hospitals before she was brought in.
When asked about the diagnosis of the student prior to her demise, he explained that such information can only be divulged to the family, which has already been done.
Efforts to get comments of Delta Police spokesman DSP Bright Edafe were unsuccessful as of press time.
