Correctional centre, Home take delivery of donated items

Correctional Service

The over 200 female inmates of Kirikiri Correctional facility, and children of Life Changers Less Privileged Home, FESTAC, have received food items and cash donated to them by the Oriade Local Council Development Area Chairman, Ramotalai Akinlola-Hassan.

She visited the two centres as part of activities marking her 52nd birthday.

At the female section of the correctional facility in Kirikiri, the chairman said that she had intended to visit them two years ago, during her 50th birthday, but shelved it as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

She urged the inmates to appreciate God for keeping them alive despite their predicament.

The officer in charge of the facility, DCP Ekpendu Ogugua Lozzie said the visit coincided with the planned allocation of new cell rooms to the inmates.

Lozzie on behalf of the female inmates thanked Akinlola-Hassan for remembering them and for giving them a sense of belonging. She prayed to God to reward Hon Akinlola-Hassan for her kindness.

The same scenario was witnessed at Life Changers Less Privileged Home in Festac town later in the day.
