AN aspirant for the House of Representatives in Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency  in Lagos State, Omolola Banjoko, has said the people deserves better representation at the National Assembly.

Banjoko, who plans to contest on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), was a councillor in Ward A1 between 2011 and 2014.

She spoke on the sidelines as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu opened the Oluremi Tinubu Primary Healthcare Centre in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government.

The aspirant said there was nothing to show that Amuwo-Odofin has a representative in the National Assembly.

She said: “Amuwo-Odofin deserves a better representative in the House. Many things are wrong; people don’t know what’s happening at the national level which affects them at the local government.

“A good representative should have regular town hall meetings with the people…

“I am confident of winning this election because my people love me and they know my capacity. Aside being a woman, I was a councillor and I delivered dividends of democracy to my people. I attended their meetings where I got feedbacks, which formed part of my working documents.

“Some of the projects we did have been approved by the state government, and they are ongoing.

‘’As a councillor, I delivered within the ambit of my authority. As a representative member, I will deliver. We are going there to bring back the glory of Amuwo-Odofin and Oriade local governments.”

Banjoko lauded the council chairman for building a world-class health centre.

“The project being unveiled is fantastic. Valentine has done well to give the people of Amuwo a befitting health centre. It’s equipped with the best technology, it’s top-notch, and one of the best in the country,” she added.
