The Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, Prince Usman Hamzat, has empowered 1,000 people in the council.
Hamzat made this known while giving out tools and cash to 150 skill-acquisition beneficiaries.
The event was part of activities marking his 100 days in office. Sewing machines, make-up sets, generator sets, barbing clippers, steaming machines, stoning machines amongst others were given to beneficiaries.
The council chief noted that a total of 1,000 people have been empowered within the 100 days of his administration.
An exhibition of the participants products of the different skills acquired during the training was conducted at the end of the event.
Hamzat also inaugurated roads at Orimolade and Eyiowuawi streets, and the renovated block of classrooms at Bishop Oluwole Memorial Primary School, Agege.
Hamzat enjoined the residents to own the projects and protect it for the benefit of all.
He promised to bring quality education to public schools and developmental projects to every community in the council.
