The Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area of Lagos, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, has opened a 130m-depth borehole in Agboyi. He also distributed life jackets to the residents.
The gesture, Oshinowo said, was in furtherance of his administration’s commitment to improving the well-being of the people.
He said the borehole was undertaken by the present administration to provide all year-round access to safe drinking water in the ancient town.
“We are here to commission 130m-depth borehole water project that we sunk about eight months age and we have tested it and gone through it. We assure you that it is drinkable now.

“I am urging the residents of this ancient town to take ownership of the project. The council has prepared a partnership model to ensure proper maintenance of the facility,” he said.
Olu of Agboyi Kingdom, Oba Monsuru Oladega hailed the council’s chairman for having a listening ear to the yearnings of the people.
While cutting the tape, Oba Oladega described the council chief as a meticulous grassroots administrator who understands the priority of his people.
