Court orders substituted service against Obiorah over N2b suit by Anosikes

A FEDERAL Capital Territory (FCT) High Court has ordered that a substituted service be served on Senator Ikechukwu Obiorah over a N2 billion suit filed against him by the Chairman of Folio Communications Limited (Publishers of Daily Times of Nigeria) Mr. Fidelis Anosike and its Group Managing Director Noel Anosike.

Justice Y. Halilu gave the order after hearing the application contained in the suit and motion instituted by the Anosike brothers against Obiorah at the Jabi Judicial Division of the FCT High Court.

Also joined in the suit are the Inspector General Ibrahim Idris and Deputy Inspector General Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Division (FCIID) Hyacinth M. Dagala.

After hearing counsel to the applicants, Egbet Nathaniel Esq, Justice

Halilu ruled as follows: “Leave is hereby granted to the applicants to serve the  originating motion and all other court processes in this suit on the 1st respondent via substituted means: by pasting same on his last known address; No.3 William Tolbert Close, Asokoro, Abuja.”

The substantive matter was adjourned to April 26, for hearing.

The police had at the instance of Obiorah in January invaded the Abuja office of Folio Communications Limited, where they arrested and detained top management officers of the company and went away with files and vital documents.

The Anosikes were subsequently detained for many days at the Kuje Prison before an Abuja High Court ruled for their bail.
