Creative brands shine at ACE 2018 awards

Like stars, some local brands shined brightly at the just concluded African Creative Exhibition and Awards (ACE Awards) held in Lagos.

The awards, which is the brainchild of Bellafricana with a focus on made-in-Nigeria non-oil products, brought together 70 creative brands in the arts & craft, fashion, home & lifestyle, health & beauty and food produce and snacks sectors respectively.

The awards heralded by a conference lecture had notable stakeholders, captains of industries including a cross-section of experts drawn from different fields of human endeavours.

The keynote speaker, Mrs. Ini Abimbola who spoke on the theme, ‘Creativity and Innovation in nation building,” noted that entrepreneurs have a lot to contribute to the socioeconomic growth of the country, as such should be encouraged by government at all levels.

The highpoint of the event was a white carpet awards dinner declared opened by Commissioner of Commerce Ogun State, Otunba Bimbola Ashiru who was represented by one of his aides, Ms Sola Arobieke.

The roll call of the awardees include: Mimiremi Textile who won “Best Indigenous Textile Designer”, Inner Beautee won “Best Beauty Brand”, 313 Eko won “Best Fashion Brand”, Zivanora won “Best Accessories Brand”, Ethnik by Tunde Owolabi won “Start-up of the Year”, Cyrus 45 won “Best Eco-friendly Product”, Creative Safari won “Best Innovative Product of the Year”, Morin O “Best Pioneer Craftswoman of the Year”, Tigernuts Republic won “Best Food Produce Innovation” among others.
