Nigerians Should Help the Incoming President to Succeed – Rev. Solomon Adegbolagun, President, Centre for Righteous Living
Center for Righteous Living (CRIL), a Christian-based non-governmental organization, has called on all Nigerians to help the incoming administration of the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to succeed.
The centre made this statement in a special meeting with its members in Lagos to assess the current state of the nation, especially as the nation transitions from one government to another.
On Monday, 29th May 2023, a new government, to be headed by the President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will be sworn in as the 16th President of Nigeria, after the outgoing two terms of Muhammadu Buhari.
While congratulating the major actors, the organization, speaking through its National President, Rev. Solomon Aderigbigbe Adegbolagun, noted that Buhari has obviously done his best despite the pervasive challenges that characterized his government.
“Yes, on one side, we can mention some of the dark sides of the outgoing government, like insecurity, indebtedness, nepotism, corruption, inflation, and economic problems. But, on the other side, Buhari can be scored highly in the area of building infrastructure, as he has done more than all his predecessors in that aspect.
“Under Buhari, there has been so much shedding of blood. Buhari might not be corrupt, but corruption surrounded him. He has done what many others could not do in terms of infrastructure, roads, and railways.
“We also thank God for the life and good health of Buhari from the beginning to the end of his terms. Those saying Tinubu is sick are not God, and we should pray for good health for the incoming president.

“As for the incoming president, we want Nigerians to keep him in their prayers. We also urge the new set of leaders not to shy away from doing things on the platter of righteousness. Nigerians should help the incoming president to succeed. We expect President-elect Tinubu to correct the wrongs of his predecessor.”
The Centre for Righteousness also called on the leadership of the National Assembly to ensure a balance by electing a Christian member as the President of the Senate, so as to maintain a balance against the Muslim-Muslim slots of the President and the Vice President.
Rev. Adegbolagun also urged Christian leaders in Nigeria to continue to speak on the state of the nation, particularly during a transitional period when a president is going out as another comes in.
The body also took advantage of the opportunity to congratulate the Lagos Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu, on his second term as the Governor of the State, expressing the belief that his second term will bring more prosperity to the people of the state.
Center for Righteous Living is a body that was set up to ensure that righteous leaders occupy positions of leadership across the country.
