The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) said it seized contraband worth N12 billion between January and September this year.
At a briefing yesterday, the controller in charge of the command, Yusuf Malanta, said the feat resulted from the proactive enforcement of the anti-smuggling regulations.
Malanta said the seizures were achieved through intelligence sharing with other relevant government agencies
He said: ‘’Within the period under review (January to September), the command recorded 145 seizures of various items with a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N12, 496, 672,122.00.’
