A MEMBER of All Progressives Congress (APC) Board of Trustees (BoT) from Abia State, Prince Benjamin Apugo, said that members of the National Assembly, who defected from the party last week to other parties will regret their actions.
Apugo, who spoke at his Nkata Ibeku country home, Umuahia, was a prominent member of New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP).
He said despite the defection by few of its members, the group’s agreement with APC was still intact.
Apugo said most of those who left APC to other parties, particularly PDP, were morally bankrupt and did not have electoral value.
“All of us left PDP because of the high-level of impunity and the looting of the nation’s treasury that was the hallmark of the party.
“Those who defected back to PDP from APC, what will they tell their people? I’m not sure they consulted with those they were representing because most of them are going to encounter problems with their constituents.
“As for APC, the defections will not have any bearing on the party. Apart from the fact that some of them have started returning, APC has nothing to lose.”
He reassured Nigerians that majority members of nPDP have not defected and were committed to ensuring that President Muhammadu Buhari is re-elected for a second term.
