Delta Ijaw communities hail Maritime Varsity’s take off

CHAIRMEN of Gbararmatu communities in Warri South West, Delta State, have commended the Federal Government for approving the take off of the Nigerian Maritime University (NMU) in Okerenkoko.

 Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo, Tuesday, said the Federal Government released N2 billion for the take off of the university.

 The Vice President, who spoke while opening the 2nd  National Council on Niger Delta in Akure, Ondo State, said the university would take off next month.

 Reacting, in a statement in Warri yesterday, the Chairman of Kokodiagbene, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, on behalf of chairmen of Gbararmatu communities, hailed the Federal Government for giving final nod for the take off.

 “We commend President Muhammadu Buhari for approving the take off of the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, in Gbararmatu, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.

 “We also thank the Vice President,   Prof Yemi  Osinbajo,  for his  support to find lasting solution to Niger Delta issues”, the chairmen said.

 They assured intending students and the public of adequate security and a conducive learning environment.
