The official launch of ‘Emilokan’ fabric which took place last Saturday, the 3rd of June 2023 at the Radisson Hotel, Ikeja, has come and gone, but the echoes of the event is still generating interest across different quarters. Many who love the idea are applauding the new concept which they think is unique, but many others are wondering why a technocrat like Dr. Abbey Onasanya popularly known as Abbey Onas is delving into politics with this new idea that looks every inch political in nature.
The man behind the concept, Dr. Abbey Onas took out time to explain why he decided to honour President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu with the fabric. Speaking exclusively to The Nation Newspaper, the chairman of ZGM Investment Group of Companies, said it is in his own little way to keep the name and brand of the President in the mind of people across the globe especially our motherland because of his positive impact in the nation and beyond.

He said further that; President, Bola Tinubu, ‘Emilokan’ Fabric represents strength, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of excellence which is synonymous with Asiwaju. “The ‘Emilokan’ Fabric is a masterpiece that combines elegance, comfort, and versatility with the marriage of Swiss elegance and Nigerian resilience.”
According to Dr. Onas, the quality is top notch and he believes that will make it competitive amongst top range fabric around the world. Dr. Abbey Onas who said this is the first time he will be coming out publicly to identify with any politician, revealed he is doing so because of the turbulence Asiwaju passed through without being submerged during the electioneering period. This is pure strength of character and that’s what the textile represents.
The ZGM chairman is into construction, mining, distributive trade, waste management and asset management among other business pies.
