EVEN though some unions pulled out of the strike, which began yesterday, National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) picketed Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) offices at Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos.
Three unions; National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals (NAPA), Amalgamated Union of Public Corporation and Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE), earlier threatened to shut down four of the six agencies for failure by Salaries and Wages Commission to address Condition of Service (CoS) of their members.
However, NAPA opted out of the strike last night, citing misinformation
Many workers in the two agencies were locked out of their offices, but operations went on unhindered.
The police were on ground to prevent breakdown of law and order.
At the international wing, Airforce personnel forced open the control towers locked by the unions, allowing Air Traffic Controllers (ATCs) to resume duty.
