While friends and family members are still mourning the loss of a top showbiz promoter, Dotun Olaribigbe, aka Lobito Disco, his close friend, Adebayo Kassim, aka Kas Chicken, has also passed.
He died the day Lobito Disco was laid to rest. Lobito was buried on Thursday, July 28, at Ebony Vaults & Gardens, Ikoyi, Lagos.
It was gathered that Kassim led a team of friends to raise money for Lobito’s family and had planned to hand over the money to them after the burial ceremony.
Kassim, who was buried immediately according to Islamic rites, wrote a powerful tribute for Lobito.
He wrote, “Good night my general, we have been friends for about 45 years, not one day passed that we didn’t talk, I will greatly miss you. Wait for me at the gate of heaven. See you on the other side, your friend and brother forever.”
Kassim owned Kas Chicken, a restaurant on Allen Avenue in Ikeja and Surulere areas of Lagos. The restaurant was a go-to place for Lagos and military big boys during its peak. Kas Chicken was popular in Lagos in the 80s and 90s.
