Dolphins’ coaches and management will have a showdown meeting with their acting captain, Sunday Rotimi over his alleged comments in the media that he has stepped down as the skipper of the Pride of Rivers without letting the club to be in the know about it before the publicity.
The head coach of the club, Stanley Eguma told SportingLife that it would be discussed at length and necessary corrective measures be made if truly Rotimi granted such interview he had been quoted.
It was reported by Supersport.com and used in the media in yesterday’s publication where Rotimi was quoted: I am now the ex-Dolphins captain. I am dropping the captain’s armband because I am no longer capable of doing this anymore. I also believe it is for the better of the club.”
The former U-23 coach ,however, said the controversy over Rotimi’s captain armband furore won’t overshadow their preparation for today’s rescheduled Week 3 tie against Warri Wolves in Port Harcourt.
The Seasiders were said to have mobilised a solid squad for today’s cracker but Eguma told SportingLife that they won’t take the game lightly either.
Dolphins are 19th on the log with four points from five matches and they have a game at hand against Warri Wolves billed for the Liberation Stadium in Port Harcourt.
