A 32-year-old driver, Kingsley Okon, was on Wednesday remanded in Ikoyi Prison, Lagos, by an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos after pleading guilty to stealing of his employer’s bag.
The court presided over by Mrs. F. F. George adjourned the case till June 13 for facts and sentence.
Okon, of No. 22, Alapara Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, was arraigned by the police on a one-count charge of stealing.
The defendant allegedly committed the offence on December 8 last year at No 2, Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
According to the charge sheet, the bag contained a pair of earrings, an Iphone 4, a pair of black slippers, locally made wrapper (Aso-Ebi), Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards, an Identification (ID) card and household keys, all valued at N115,000, and property of one Mrs. Emily Osanibi.
According to the prosecutor, Corporal Chinedu Njoku, the offence is punishable under Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
