DSS, OPC nab three suspected kidnappers in Ondo

Operatives of the Department of State Security Services (DSS) in collaboration with men of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) have arrested three suspected kidnappers in Igbokoda, Ilaje local Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The suspects, Yusuf Muhammad; Shende Jesse, and Fabiyi Fatai were arrested after residents in the locality reported their suspicious movements in the area.

One of the suspects, Muhammad, confessed that they came to Igbokoda to buy a gun from one Alade before going for a kidnapping operation in Ekiti State.

He said: “I came to meet Alade in Igbokoda to get a gun before we proceed to Ado Ekiti for the kidnapping.

“I have been in the business since 2020, in which we have successfully carried out about three operations in Delta State.

“In the first operation, we collected N1.2million from the victim, N800,000 from the second operation, and N2.5million in the third operation.”

Muhammad said they had no plans to kidnap anybody in Igbokoda.

“I know the person we are going to kidnap in Ado Ekiti, but I don’t know his street or house. When we get there, we will start trailing him.”

Publicity Secretary of Ilaje Leadership Forum, Emorioloye Owolemi, hailed security agencies for working in synergy to make the arrest.

“From what we have seen, you will agree with me that these are criminals and kidnappers who have no future, no plan, who are killing human beings, roasting human beings, and selling human parts to ritualists and treating them like goats after killing them. How else are we supposed to treat these kinds of idiots, if not to ensure that the law takes its course?”
