Super Eagles defender Godfrey Oboabona has revealed that he is ready to give a top notch performance to ensure that the team defeats Chad at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna for the 2017 AFCON qualifier.
“The players, coaches and staff are like one family and we train, we give 100% and make sure that we really work hard so that we can achieve good result,” he told footballlive.ng.
Eagles have camped in Kaduna since the start of the week putting finishing touches to their preparation towards the crunch tie and the Rizespor defender attests to the fact that all the players in camp are ready to give more than 100%, but says critics are always too quick to judge the performance of players.
“Any time I get invited to play for the national team, I always make sure I give my very best, it’s just that some people don’t know what players are going through, but I still manage to do my best.”
Oboabona, 24, made 19 league appearances scoring one goal in the 1-1 draw with Erciyesspor in the Turkish Super Lig last season. He was able to help Rizespor to a 15th place finish thereby, missing out on European football.
