Earthquake: Barau joins Tinubu in condoling King of Morocco

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Jibrin Barau, has joined President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in condoling King Mohammed VI of Morocco over Friday’s earthquake in his country.

A strong earthquake with magnitude 6.8 struck central Morocco on Friday, killing more than 2,000 people and causing severe damage in several areas, according to BBC.

Senator Barau, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, prayed Allah to grant all those who lost their lives Aljanatul Firdausi, while wishing those who were injured quick recovery.

“I join His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in condoling King Mohammed VI of Morocco over the devastating earthquake in the country that led to the death of many people.  

“Our prayers and thoughts are with you. We pray Allah SWT to grant all those who lost their lives Aljanatul Firdausi while wishing the injured quick recovery,” he said.

The Deputy President of the Senate also extends his heartfelt condolences to the Moroccan Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency, Moha Ou Ali Tagma over the incident.
