Flood victims in Etsako Central, Etsako East and Esan Southeast Local Government Areaa of Edo State have received N40 million and relief materials from the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and a former National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole.
Oshiomhole, a former governor of the state, who is also aspiring to represent Edo North in the senate in next year’s election, presented the donation to the IDPs at their camp in Oghomere, Etsako Central. He said Tinubu could not make it down due to transportation issues.
The former governor noted that the money was for the people whose farms and property were destroyed by the flood, irrespective of party affiliation.
Oshiomhole added: “Of the N40 million, Etsako Central, which has over 19,061 affected people, gets N20 million. Etsako East with over 7,742 people gets N12 million, while Esan Southeast with over 6,000 victims gets N8 million.”
The former governor donated 3,000 bags of rice and other items to the flood victims.
He urged Nigerians to vote for APC candidates during the 2023 general election, to continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
