Nigeria international, Efe Ambrose has told AfricanFootball.com his mother predicted his goal against Swaziland.
The Celtic defender scored the second goal three minutes from time to seal a 2-0 win for Nigeria over Swaziland last week Tuesday in a Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier to advance to the group stage of the qualifiers.
It was a “striker’s” goal as he dashed into the box to coolly help on a free kick by Sylvester Igbonu as Nigeria searched for a goal to cushion the pressure from Swaziland.
The former FC Ashdod of Israel player said his mother told him before the game that he will play well and cap a good game with a goal to help Nigeria win.
“My mother, Alice Adievu Ambrose, predicted I am going to do well for Eagles against Swaziland and score a goal and it came to pass. And so I dedicated the goal to her for her never-ending support and encouragement,” said an elated Ambrose.”
Ambrose, who has represented Nigeria at U-20 and U-23 levels, has over 50 caps for Eagles.
