The Yoruba socio-cultural and political group, Afenifere Renewal Group has said the people of Ekiti state are lucky to have Biodun Oyebanji as their governor.
The group, in a statement by the Ekiti state publicity secretary, Prince Michael Ogunbemi who commended Oyebanji’s performance in the last two years, said the governor has brought a new lease of life to Ekiti people through life-changing policies and projects.
Afenifere noted that Oyebanji has brought a paradigm shift in governance by boosting citizens’ confidence in leadership through inclusive leadership, humility, robust fraternity, and the adoption of a ‘soft power’ model to govern the people of the state.
The group said it was deeply enthralled with Oyebanji’s commitment to deepen participatory democracy in Ekiti, by his infinite and unrestricted fraternities with the poor masses, elites, and politicians of diverse interests and inclinations.
It added that the group was proud of the governor for not betraying the people and for prosecuting the six-point agenda of his administration to give hope to the hopeless and elevate the spirits of the common men.
ARG saluted Oyebanji for entrenching good leadership through aggressive infrastructures with quality road construction, employment of over 4,000 into the civil service while creating opportunities for thousands of youths in farming, construction of the international Arts and Cultural centre, construction of youth development centre, the building of MSMEs Clinic, promotion of Adire Hub and ensuring gender balance in the system to propel the economy.

The group said: “The Afenifere Renewal Group Felicitates Governor Biodun Oyebanji for celebrating the two years of his enigmatic leadership. It wasn’t just a celebration, but celebrating functional and quality leadership that has brought hope to the hopeless and voice to the voiceless.
“We are pleased with your giant strides in road construction, job creation for over 20,000 at both public and private sectors, radicalization of the arts and culture sector to become a thriving industry in Ekiti, increased subventions to tertiary institutions, and payment of salary and pension as and when due. Last Saturday, you paid a sum of N3.5b in one swell swoop to pensioners as gratuity. This was a novelty in Ekiti’s history.
“With you in the saddle, Ekiti people are getting a big relief with a widespread impression that they have a leader they can trust and touch. You have broken all barriers between leadership and the led to the extent that you are unimpededly accessible to all Ekiti residents regardless of class and race.
“Most astounding was the way you engender firm gender equality in the system. Women are doing great in government in alignment with the belief of successive progressive governments.
“You have brought all political tendencies together. The hitherto political upheaval, acrimony, and unrest that have pervaded the system had fizzled out for your superlative and exceedingly magnetic leadership force.
“We are indeed proud of you and congratulate all Ekiti people for these stunning, unique, and outstanding achievements.”
