•Names caretaker committee
The Management of the Ekiti State University (EKSU) has postponed the Students’ Union (SU) election till further notice.
In the interim, it has announced a 12 –man caretaker committee to take over from the David Aridiogo-led SU.
According to a statement signed by the Director, Information and Corporate Affairs, Ajibade Olubunmi, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Samuel Oye Bandele, gave the names of the committee members as: Ojo abiodun Colins of the Faculty of Science (Chairman); Olayinka Alice, Faculty of Science (Vice-Chairman I); Abiodun Adebayo, Part-Time Programme (Vice-Chairman II); Omorilewa Tomilola, Social Science (General Secretary); Oguntade Pelumi ,Agricultural Sciences (Financial Secretary 1); and Olabode Imole Ayomide, Law (Financial Secretary 2).
Others are: Olubiyo Joy, Education (Public Relations Officer); Olawamuye Emmanuel, Arts (Welfare Director); Sanni Adeyemo, Social Sciences (Treasurer); Fadugba Joshua, Engineering (Social Director); Akindeko Oluwafemi, Management Sciences (Sports Officer 1); Ogunbiyi Tolulope, College of Medicine (Sports Officer 2).
Bandele urged the committee members to properly coordinate the students now that lectures have not really started.
The Vice-Chancellor said elections would hold when the situation allows for it.
